Ok guys I need some help here. (Now please bear with me here) My Fionce's friends husband just went out and bought an 06' 4 door Silverado with the 6.0L and has only put a flowmaster 50 series muffler on it and thats it for mods on his truck. We got to talking the other day and he now wants to take on my Ram to see whose is faster. I think I'll get him just by judging from past races with other trucks Ive beat (05' Titans, 06' tundras, all the fords except for the lightning, and a stock 05' SS) but for some reason or another that 6.0 has me slightly concerned none the less. Do you guys think I'm gonna have much to worry about? I have an 05' Ram 1500 Reg. Cab short bed 2wdr with the 5.7L HEMI, MODS = Borla Cat back Exhaust System, Superchips Tuner, and high performance low profile tires.

 

I think you could take him. Line em up and do it, then tell us what happens

 

i have no doubt in my mind u wont beat him

first off ur lighter since ur in a single cab

next stock he is only making 300 hp

plus ur over him in horsepower by at least 60 with ur mods and you torque seems like it would be about the same if you not on top of that also

pretty much easy kill since he is only makin 300hp stock


p.s. if he has the vortec max 6.0L engine then yall are makin the same hp stock but u will still pull on him but if he doesnt it will be a dust

 

I thought thaey were along the line of 345hp stock though not 300hp

 

it depends they have a 300 hp 6.0L

but then there is the 6.0L vortec max which is 345hp

I think you could take him. As said before, you are lighter in the Reg. Cab. Plus you got the HEMI.....with mods!

 

o yea to add to that if u said u've beaten a SS

they have the same engine depending on what year u raced and they were awd


older models had like 365hp

 

I raced an 05' SS and won by about a hood but that was before my superchip tuner. I think he only has the 6.0 not the 6.0 VortecMax. Also he also has off road tires added to it too. I think he's trying to set it up for more of an off road truck while mine is being setup for more of a street truck. I dont know if that makes a difference or not. Also I know he has smaller gears I think like the 3.52's???? while Im running my 3.92.

yeah man, you got this. What I would do is race him and then buy some 4.56 gears and race him again. With your setup and some 4.56s there wont be many that can catch you, you'll own.
