Well, I tried the same thing and I discovered 2 things. I felt a loss of power, maybe there wasn't but it felt like. 2nd, the local cops here did not like the sound because I got a noise violation ticket on the second day of no muffler. So, I guess if you don't mind losing some power and getting multiple tickets from johnny law, go for it.

You'll definitely lose torque...
And in my area, you'll lose about $180 for blatant noise violation.
But she'll sound SWEET under full throttle...

Because most cops think loud pipes save lives.... what is your excuse for being loud?

i have an 06 1500. they have 3 mufflers on them stock. i left the pre-silencer on, but took off the huge muffler, and the aft-silencer. sounds pretty damn mean, and not too loud at cruising. drivin past plenty of cops, they dont even look. the only problem is that the mds is real noticeable since the exhaust is comin out about where the bed starts. but u get used to it. kinda sounds like a boat. id say try it if u want ur truck to be loud.

did you remove the exhaust before or after the cat? if it was before (after headers) then you'll throw codes out the wazoo.
