would it be worth it?
Im going to be replacing my stock crap speakers. But I dont that it will be loud enough for me and the speakers I put in could handle more juice.
I want to keep my stock stereo because it has navigation. Would it be worth it to find a stock infinity amp? Is the wiring all there already? I know it mounts up under the dash in a PITA place. Would it make that much difference in sound?
I just dont want to hook an amp up and run some larger speakers. If I could get away with this it would be prefered.

I remember reading in a post either on this forum or another forum that there is a company that makes harnesses that will allow you to use and aftermarket amp with the stock headunit. The way the system is set up now, you cannot simply upgrade the amp. It requires a special harness because of the strange way Chrysler has the amp and the headunit working together. The amp increases the volume, not the headunit.
yeah but the harnes to hook into the amp should be there correct? I just want the door speakers to get the power from the stock amp. If I decide to install a sub of some sort than I will use the harness you speak of.
i was also thinkin of installing 6x9 door speakers but also dont want to get rid of my stock stereo i dont listen to rap so i dont need subs for bass just something to blare my country a little louder would the 6x9s make enough of a difference to be worth it? or would i need to get a new stereo?

I know its possible cause I have my amp hooked up to the stock cd player.

factory amp is going to cost more than aftermarket and not be as clean or as powerful. Honestly factory sound systems in almost all vehicles suck horribly. The factory head units have internal equalisation to pull bass out when you turn up the volume...
just bite the bullet and go full aftermarket.... you do not have to cut factory wires, your factory stuff goes straight back in... and you will be way happier.

My amp is an aftermarket amp and it powers my 2 12's behind my seats and it works out nicely. I wouldnt mind getting a new head unit other than the factory one but it works great for now, it hits hard and sounds nice, it wont win any competitions by any means but it works......Basically even if your head unit isn't setup with the amp out puts all you gottat do is tap into your rear speakers with an amp connection and power the amp. its not to hard of work and when everything is said and done it sounds good and if you ever wanted to upgrade everything is already wired for it.
