Default loose door handles

I noticed both my passenger and drivers door handles (the frame around the pull, not the pull handle itself) came away from the door panel, and they move out quite a bit when you pull to open the doors. I showed it to the dealer and they said there was a service bulletin about adjusting the door handles, but that it is common for them to move when pulling to open the door. They adjusted mine so now they at least sit flush against the door panel, but they still move outward when you open the doors. I did a search and didn't come up with anything for this, has anyone else had this issue?

The dealer went out and checked three other used trucks on the lot and they all had the same thing.

Default Loose handle problem

I found that my rear passenger side door handle was loose, so I went to ehow.com and typed in "loose door handle dodge ram". I found a video on how to replace the door handle. Well, my handle was loose from the back end of it, I was able to pop the rubber plug that is right next to the inside door panel, it's even with the outside door handle. there are two small bolts that come off of the back of the handle, they each have an 8mm nut. I just tightened up the nut and it fixed the handle, it's nice and snugg now. I didn't even have to take off the inside panel, just the little rubber plug. But if need be, the video on ehow will show you how to take off the inside panel to tighten up the other nut if you need to.

I would just remove the door panels to tighten them up. Takes like 45 seconds to remove the panel. But, I have never heard of this issue before, so it may not be real common. Mine are all tight, but time will tell.

has anyone with this problem tried to tighten he two bolts holding them on?

On another note, a loose door handle could be the end result of an attempted break-in. Thats the entry route for 90% of them

white cover? do you mean the white plastic liner?

I just cut a hole where the hole was that allows access to the handle. Its really not that hard and if you ask any questions about it you are probably making it harder than it is

There are two nuts that hold the handles in place.
