Default Exhaust System

I'm a proud owner of a 06 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi, I have been looking for a good exhaust system that I could put on it. Any suggestions? I want something that sounds good but not too exspensive.

I don't own a Hemi Ram but I have heard that it doesn't respond well to aftermarket exhaust, speaking from a performance stand point. I have heard one with Flowmasters before though and I thought it sounded great. When I got mine put on my truck it was like 400 for a Flowmaster 40 Series single inlet/dual outlet. I know our motors are different but I think you can't beat a Flowmaster. If you are looking for a kit I would warn you to stay away from Summit. I bought one of their kits to do my exhaust the first time.......terrible fit and quality was awful. The worst part is you can't return it after its been modified either. So I would suggest going to a good muffler shop in your area and letting them do their thing. When I took mine in they had it done in less than an hour while I stood there and waited.

If it was me right now i would buy a flowmaster 40 series of ebay for around 60$ shipping included and instal it myself. It's really easy you only need a piece of 3" pipeand some clamps. But i like to work on my truck myself dunno about u.

2 Super 40 Flowmasters here. $170 for mufflers, $250 for dual exhaust made up with tips.

I have been researching this as well.
Since you have a 2006 (as do I) you have the MDS engine management system.
When the MDS cuts the engine back to 4 cylinders, reportedly many exhausts sound bad.
Imagine a rice rocket at 200 rpm on the freeway.
I guess it all depends on how much drone you are willing to accept.

Here is a list of companies that make cat-back systems and relative prices.
Dynomax $280
Flowmaster $413
Magnaflow $497
Banks $502
Borla $679
Corsa $853

The Corsa is the only system that says it is desinged with and soundn well with the MDS.

If you main concern is price I would just have your local muffler shop replace the muffler.
I think that the stock exhaust system on the 2006 is pretty damn good and most of these will not improve performance much.
The main reason I want to change is that it sounds like a damn vacuum cleaner.

I have not decided yet, but I am leaning toward having a magnaflow installed and see how it sounds.
If it sounds bad then I will pony up the cash for the Corsa.

anyone with experience please chime in.

I would agree wit letting your local shop do some work, but bring them a Borla to weld on and have them change the piping for a dual out stainless mandrel bent system, they should be able to pull that off for less than the Magnaflow. I've had Borla on everythign I own, I love it, if it can give a 4 cylinder the groan to sound like an 8 imagine what it does for an 8.
