Is it worth getting a sun roof put in if it didn't come factory installed? What do they run? Been thinking about putting one in, but not sure if it's worth while or not. Figured I'd ask the fine folks here...

 

Sun roofs arent really my thing but what the heck. Go for it if you want it....

 

just remember they are not covered by the factor warranty..... choose your intstallers carefully.

 

I have been tempted, but have seen many horrible jobs to just wait until I get a new vehicle. Right now, both of my vehicles have factory roofs and I love them. If you want one, choose an installer carefully and ask to see some of thier work. I'd choose a shop that has been around a while, so that if you do have problems, you can get it fixed. Also, choose a quality sunroof. It will cost good money, but will be worth it. Plan on about $1500 or so. That is what I've seen in South Florida. It takes most of the day, so plan on dropping your truck off and picking it up later.

I love sunroofs and have them in three of my vehicles, all factory. I don’t have any in my trucks. The aftermarket ones have gotten better but will not equal factory for longevity. The local shop that installs and backs it up can make all the difference.

You know just out of curiousity why would you want a sun roof on a truck? I can understand them on a car or light SUV or even some of the higher end models of SUV's but a Truck??[sm=dontgetit.gif]

 

All sun roofs will leak some time don't do it !!!!

 

A sunroof is one of the best features in my truck. I had to drive all the way to PA from MD to get my truck with sunroof and power slider.

 

I have a pop up in mine and it cost me about $400. The guy could have put a factory style power one in for about 1200. I wish i spent the 1200
