Please Help: 2006 Vibration
As an update, I'm still dealing with my $42k craptastic '06 lemon. Been to three dealers, one tire shop and all feel what I classify as a life-ruining vibration (both in the wheel AND the seat) but none can identify it much less resolve it. They've swapped the wheels/tires out with another vehicle on the lot to no avail. The Chrysler tech dept told the dealer to do something or other and try it in 4-low to see if the vibration persisted. It did and everyone is currently throwing their hands up at my expense (still making monthly payments on the piece of garbage.)
I'm quite displeased... I tried dumping at 5 different dealers but those brilliant promotions Chrysler ran the tail end of the used car market right off. It's back at the dealer for one last shot, then I'm lemon-lawing it.
Will keep you posted.
One thing to note: Those 20" Goodyears are JUNK. Everyone, even the dealers and tire shop say they're junk.

I'm just curious - nobody buys a new vehicle without test driving it first and in your very first post you said "I just purchased a 2006 Ram 1500 Laramie Quad Cab w/ 5.7 HEMI. From the time I left the dealer's lot, it had an awful vibration" so obviously it had these problems from the get go. Why did you go ahead and buy it even with the problems?
LLT have you called Chrysler about this? If not call them I spent 30 minutes with a guy on the phone the other day telling him how it is a wide spread problem but he refused to admit that he has heard of it before. So the more calls the better in my opinion.
stump i dont know about LLT but I test drove the truck and it drove great on the test drive but i didnt get to tow my trailer as a test or didnt take it on a road that I could go 60 i played with the power from a stop and stuff but didnt get chance to get over 60 without driving a little while and the truck was on E when i started driving it.
Also I havent updated but last week i took it back in they pulled tires and wheels off another NEW truck and it still did it. I went home and got my trailer with the tech in the truck so he could feel the "normal" vibration he then let me hook my trailer to a BRAND NEW 06 with 20s and it vibrated worse than my truck. He said he test drove it unloaded that same day and it was way worse than my truck but it was still sitting on the lot to be sold! My stepdads company buys a bunch of dodges from a dealer about 80 miles away and he is taking it there today.

I know when I test drove, I originally did it with the 20's and hated the ride. Very rough and vibration prone. Going to the 17's made a world of difference. Maybe the vibration is in the wheels themselves? Maybe they need to static balance the wheels and not the tires. Who knows.
I have a small vibe now at 80-90 but that is due to the gear swap. Once I get the driveshaft balanced - which I FINALLY found a place to do it - that should go away.

Well my step dad didnt pull through he rode with the service mgr and the guy said it was because I had "off road" tires. Hello Goodyear GSA's are not "off road" tires! He said it is from the type of tire and my stepdad bought that and left. I guess he wasnt listening to me yesterday when i told him they already have put different type of goodyear tires and rims on my truck and it still drove like crap. I am totally over it now. The dealer here said the driveshaft is perfect. I dont know what else to do besides find me a lawyer and submit a letter to Chrylser about this problem.
Stump - The vibration didn't initially occur until 60 or above. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get it on the highway and as it had 6 miles on it, I wouldn't have suspected I'd need to. Clearly I was wrong.
As another update: the dealer believes they've found the problem. A rear axle seriously out of round. This has supposedly damaged the shocks, wheel bearing and the rear-end due to the horrific vibration - so they're in the process of replacing all of those components (Chrysler's bill - have at it!) They've had it a week so far and I've told them I'm in no rush - I do believe that's helped get somewhere finally. A dealer that cares makes all the difference.
I'll report the final results as soon as I get the vehicle back. Here's hoping it will be as smooth as the others I've test driven.

LLT I am glad they are trying stuff. Maby if that takes care of yours the rest of us will have something to make the dealers work for us too. Good luck.

*steps off soapbox*
I too am an owner of a new 2006 Ram Q/C. It is equipped with 17" Michelins. I believe I am experiencing the same problem. I feel a vibration mainly above 50 mph, however it is also noticable sometimes at speeds as low as 35 mph. I am glad I found this thread, as I think I will print it and take to the dealer when I go.
