Please Help: 2006 Vibration
I want ti share something else! The engineer that worked on my truck stated to the svc mgr that at 58 MPH the vibwas gone when he rode test it. That is an incorrect statement and will tell him when I see him again.
Anyway, the lastest thing is that the vibration is a "drone" caused by the torque converter when it locks up,according to the engineer. Ihave researched for some information on this TC drone and it has/is an item that is becoming a problem. Ihaven't seen it on this forum, so far, but it might shed some light on our problem with this vibration issue. I'll check to see if a "change in the lock up point of the TC" is available for the '06s. This was mentioned in a post ona Dodge Dakota ForumI looked at for the '03-'05 Dakota QCs.I would think, though, that if it were available, the "engineer' would have known about it and used itQ
I sent a letter to the CD-Dodge group in Michigan asking themfor help, info. and direction.
I too, am pleased with this truck, "except" for this now "drone."
I'll stay in touch.
Merry Christmas to all!

finally my 06 4x4 ram 1500 is drone free it would cycle in and out at around 90 kph . It is the exhaust . it was mounted to tight, when they reset it it was half as bad . for the 05 ram they also had a problem and the came up with a exhaust weight or dampener . they installed oneon my 06 and the vibration/drone is 95 % gone . maybe install one more and it should be 100%
Thanks italkart42, What type exhaust system do you have? Mine is stock, single!
I think we, on this forum, were not fully aware of our "vibration" issue's true name. Not excluding the tire /wheel problems, (that some of us have experienced), which in mnost cases are not the complete causes. The exhaust way is a new "road" they can travel.
I plan to share this information, you shared, with the svc mgr, and the "engineer" so they can get on the ball to eventually cause this to go away. It is very frustrating when the "expert engineers and factory trained technicians" can't use logic, suggestions, and new developments to diagnose these ploblems, which I have passed on to the DC people.
Thanks again!

hi just wondering how you made out w/the vibration i have a 07 qc w/20's and after 2000 miles am noticing the vibration at speeds over 50 but only on light acceleration i just got rid of an 05' f150 that the dealer kept for 4 months and after 3 reps from dearborn 2 driveshafts 1 diff 2 rear axles 4 tires all new body mounts a 30 pound weight added to the left rear corner of the frameall new wheel bearings the last ditch effort before ford would buy it back they installed a new trans total bill (they paid) $9,322.79 and the trans cured the problem i sure hope i'm not gonna have to go through that again
I have the same vibration in my 06'. The dealership finally said they wouldn't work on it anymore because DC would not cover any more warranty repair attempts. I am now going to a state arbitration hearing to get my money back under the Lemon Law.......
I think your solution may be too look at the vibration dampers that are on some of the frames on the 06's. I have one on each side of the frame underneath my box, and I have no vibration problems whatsoever. People have also had luck with tire checking, driveshaft replacement and other techniques, but these mysterious dampers that are on some trucks seem to me to be the fix.
