I have had good luck with Rhino on a previous truck.

With my latest truck, 06 Power Wgaon, I decided to try the Line-X dealer.
Since the Line-X is a little thinner, they are able to apply it on the bottom edge of the tail gate and down between the tail gate and the bed. My previous Rhino application did not cover these areas.

I wasn't sure about the "over the rail" application, because I was worried about how the edge would look on the outside of the bed. The Line-X dealer showed me a Dodge Ram with the "over the rail" option that looked perfect. I doubted the workmanship of the installer and how well he would tape off the edge. They promised my money back if it wasn't as good as their Dodge Ram example...I went with the "over the rail" option and I am extremely satisfied with the way it looks.

Sorry for the poor pics (and a dirty truck).

I had the "over the rail" option on my 98' dakota with the Line-X. It looked very nice and definatly worth it.

I have over the rail. Sorry no pics. But it was very much worth it. Line-X is great stuff. The day i got it i brough a sledge hammer with me and soon as they said it was done and i could have it i chucked it up there and not a scratch or dent. Good stuff, ive also gotten complements on it all the time. So i recommend it to anyone.

I paid 480 total. Why wouldn't you want it over the rails? Now I can walk on the sides and not worry about anything. I'm considering having my rear 1/4 panels done.

Lets put it this way, it may be $100 more, I don't know, but it only takes ONE thing to fall over on your side rails to scratch the heck out of them, IMO it's a wise investment.

I've had three third-Gen Dodges done with Line-X, and I do my company trucks with them too - good stuff and when I knocked a chip out on one at the tailgate edge, they repaired it under warranty even though it was years old. My brother did his with Rhino, and the quality was lacking compared to Line-X - but I think some of that is due more to the guy spraying it on. Rhino is supposedly cold when put on, while Line-X is hot - better adhesion they say.
And RaiderMike67 is right - once you ding the bed edge when you decided not to pay the extra fifty or hundred bucks - you'll wish you'd paid earlier rather than later...
