Help me find an srt-10 hood
I am in the market to upgrade my hood. I can't find them any cheaper than liek 660$ and than another 150$ shipping. I checked on ebay there is only 1 guy selling for 575$ but he wants 225$ shipping (lol). Does anyone have any sites I can browse? I saw an srt-10 hood in carbon fiber I tried to buy that but it's on indefinet backorder.
Thanks

RE: Help me find an srt-10 hood
I just ordered one for my truck through Ram Air, it was just over a thousand bucks painted and ready to install, that was the cheapest I found them, you can also get them unpainted for a little less green if you want. Mine should be here in a couple of weeks and I will be posting pics and posting my opinion then.

No, it is an exact replica of the SRT hood and made with OEM material. Go to ramair.co and check them out, I know which hood your talking about with the double scoop, they make that one also. The best part is that for the Hemi you can get it with the air box making it completely functional! Unfortunately they dont make the air box for the diesel

RE: Help me find an srt-10 hood
Here's something I learned. I researched a little before I bought an SRT-10 hood from a local Dodge dealer. I now regret the way I did it. If I had to do it again I would buy it prepainted and save some money. Of course, it comes at the risk of the paint arriving scratched.
Buying it painted added a couple of hundred dollars if I was to buy it online. I thought I could do the same thing locally for a few hundred, but found out differently. I had quotes of $450- $900 just to paint it, depending if I wanted them to blend in the fenders. My truck was only a year old, so I just went the cheaper route of blending the paint according to the Dodge paint code and not blending. It matched perfectly. The way I did it cost about $1200. The hood was the retail price of $660.
Another thing I learned when I was getting estimates, was a small body shop I went to said that I should have went to him to order the Mopar hood. He gets a 20% discount from the dealer that he would have passed on to me if he painted the hood. If you order the hood from a body shop willing to work with you, you may be able to get a decent package deal.
