would i want 20inch wheels
im just looking for down the road but. would i want to go from the stock 17s to the stock 20s?would the ride suffer any? what are reasons to not get the 20s? i have 3.55 gears and the 4.7. thanks for the help. srry if this is a repeat post.
I've never been in a Ram with 17s so I have nothing to compare to, but I love my 20s. I don't think there's anything wrong with the way my truck rides. I've got the 3.55 rear end and a Hemi. Just be sure you get them mounted and balanced properly.
I originally had 17's on my truck and it was a nice ride and very easy to spin the tires from a stop. I got 20" srt-10 wheels and now I bearly get a chirp and now I can feel more bumps in the road but it is not too bad. Overall, I am still happy I went with 20's because I think they look better and though I may not be able to spin the tires at a stop, I do take off like a bat out of hell! (better grip from high performance tires)
well I barely chirp them on my 06 with the hemi on my 17's so i guess it would be good for my traction to have those srt-10 rims and i looove the look. do you know the weight comparison between the srt10 wheels and the aluminum 17's? also what did those srt10's cost you?
they are worth buying to me as long as i dont lose power and they dont hurt my mileage

i woudlnt get them, i have 20's on mine and im currently switching to 17's. I drive alot of grid roads and you feel every little bump, i dont like the ride of them at all. And your milage will definetly drop because you are going from a i believe 9 and some in tire up to an 11 and some in tire, plus the added weight and rolling mass of a bigger tire, so be prepared for the milage to drop. But ya they do look nice, thats the only plus i can think of.
I hated the ride with the 20's when I test drove. You could feel every bump and we drive a lot of backroads. Went with the stock steel 17's that come standard and upgraded to the stock chrome 17's from Ebay for $150! I've never regretted the 17's.
Besides, 17" tires are cheaper and there are are choices.
