TRUE DUAL with X-pipe!! Want to become a vendor, help me out guys.
Hey whats up guys!?
I Just registered today and Im looking at being a vendor on this forum. I would like some feedback from you guys before I go ahead start paying forum dues again.
I specialise in performance exhaust systems. I make them all in house. Right now this is my flag ship exhaust I made for the ram truck. unfortunatly its not for the Hemi because the Hemi has only one Cat and making a system for a Hemi will require removing that cat. This is a mandrel bend system and chances are your local exhaust shop does not have the machine to make this setup.
This system here requires you to cut the Y section only so you keep your cats. its 100% legan and gives you no CEL lights. Its a bold on so you dont have to go to a muffler shop to install it which is great! I will be making a regular single in dual out muffler seutp which is common. This system however made a huge improvement on this truck and it had a magnaflow with duals before!
IM working on sound clips.
Anyways guys, let me know if there is intrest so I can join right away!
Moderators, I hop eyou dont mine me posting this. I emaile dyou guys and im waiting for a reply, thanks!

so, explain the reason for the x in the pipe. kind of defeats the whole "true duals" thing doesn't it?

Great question!
Take a look at mustangs, back in teh day they use to run an H-pipe which gave you a deeper tone and more tq. The xpipe gives you more tq than an H but does not sound as deep.
The x/h pipe balances the left bank of the engine from the right bank. It also helps in scavenging the exhaust system from the cylinder head.
Here is an easy way to look at it:
If you notice the exhaust will enter the left piping then when it goes into the x it switches and goes into the right side.
As the exhaust crosses over to the right side, it creates a ventury affect in the right side (upstream of the x) and causes a suction. Lets pretend that the firing order of the engine fires left, right, left right etc.
So when the left side fires, it will create a suction in the right side causing the fuel to be suct into the cylinder and the exhuast from coming out of the cylinder. This is how it provides better scavenging.
If you rnot familiar with a venturi affect, its simular to your truck being pulled into a semi truck that passes by you.
This is not 100% accurate description but i tried to make it as easy as possible.
xpipes is on every mustang performacne exhaust.
hmmm i thought the hemi had 2 cats? one on each header. Because mine has two things that look like cats coming off each header.....
HEck now you have me thinking.
I know for sure that my buddies Hemi had 1 cat after the Y. I know cause i was pissed off to realise that. Not sure what year his is though. Thats what i hate about trucks in general, especialy the fords. THere are so many variations that its crazy!

Those are probably resonators on your HEMI.
Did you just put the x in a place that it fit or did you do any testing to find the sweet spot? Either way I would be very interested in one for a HEMI even if it ment buying another cat. Will you have an option available for headers?

Resonators are placed after ac at. Maybe its a big flex section that they use. It does not look like a regular bellow and braided type flex come to think of it.
To find a sweetspot on a vehicle wha tyou do is fabricate a set of true duals with no balancing section. Then you paint it with regular paint. Crack it up and take it for a hard spin then come back.
Then you look at the system to see where the paint is burning at which indicates the hottest point. This is where you want to put the balance at.
So to answer your question stroker (the force is stron gin you when it comes to exhausts i see) no I did not do it this way. This is for custom setups where the individual is done modding their car and it does vary from car to car based on its mods etc.
For a hemi setup ill have to fabricate my own downpipe with cats in it and sell it like that. I would need to get ahold of another hemi truck to do that though. I dont make headers, takes to long.
Thanks for the feedback guys!

Just to throw my 2 cents in here Hemi's have 2 cats. I am running true dual exhaust with 2 high flow cats and Mahnaflow mufflers. Coming off of Doug Thorley 3/8 flange headers. Well mrexhaustdepot your sytem does look nice but the real questions is what is the damage that your gonna charge for it. i'm interested because i'm currently running an "H" pipe and would rather go with an "X". I know I could just have an "X" installed but I would rather just do it all. Thank you and good luck.

I'd sure volenteer my truck for this but Ft Lauderdale aint close. I've looked around here for some one with a mandrel bender and they just don't exsist.
