Default HIDs and 2003 1500 is that possible?

I have had a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland that used 9006 bulbs for lights/low beams, had problems with it and it was considered a lemon by chrysler after 2 months of owning it, so i had it returned to the dealership and traded it in for a 2003 Ram Pickup. The problem with the Overland was that it used low beams instead of High for DRLs. That meant my HIDs would flicker(improper voltage for the ballasts) when in AUTO mode. I had to have my lights dial turned to ON position all the time to use the HIDs. My question is: i would love to use the HIDs in the pickup truck, i know it uses 9007 bulbs so yes, i know i will have to use different bulbs, but are the DRLs in it using the low or high beam? If they are using the low beam circuit i will not be able to unless i get my wiring figured out with the relays etc... but if in High, i will be ok, could someone answer that? Thanks!!

In my research there are a couple of issues, primarily the fact that if you happen upon a smart police officer in many states they can ticket you for having non-OEM headlights. I couldn't believe it, but checked and at least in Utah they can Outside of that are the issues that the headlamp housing on our Ram's is not designed for that kind of setup, so if you just replace with an HID bulb or the wonderfull E*Bay conversion kits it won't be that great (have heard this from several folks on the forum). Another option I was referred to from danielsternlighting.com is http://www.hidretro.com - They retro fit I believe BMW projectors into Dodge housings and set it up right.....I'm saving some pennies for a project like this, but still there's the worry of a "fix-it" ticket

You don't have DRL's unless it is a fleet truck or it was a Ram sold in Canada.

I have HID's in my headlamp assembly I have a 8k kit. They are way to bright!!! I have to many people hi beam beam because of this. They will work! I had to hook them up to the Fog light switch because for some reason the headlight swich would not work.
