BTW, yes that is a 98 taco parked next to my ram, I drive it alot, got some mods under the hood, but still doesnt have the same plant your keester into the seat feel my Cummins does.
anyhoo people, this subject gets brought up about once every few months. do some research and you'll find quite a few threads on this with the titan, tundra, chevy, ford, it is all relative. Everyone bought their truck for a purpose, some like chevy's, others like fords, or toyotas, or nissans.
give it a rest people, this thread has not gotten out of hand and I commend those who left the troll bait alone, and those who did not start a flame war that could have. my eye is on this thread and I am leaveing it like it is, but the moment it does heat up it will go bye bye.
Let's see...Toyota reliability...while moving from the #4 manufacturer to #2 they have also managed to move into 3rd place in recalls, behind only Ford(hope that doesn't surprise anyone) and GM. Toyota is finding it very difficult to ramp up their production and maintain even their formerly high quality standards. We shall see if adding 200K more Turdras to the production will reveal any more "glitches" in their processes.
As for styling, Toyota has always excelled at producing bland, bland and more bland. The "new" Turdra may go down as one of the ugliest vehicles ever made, ranking right down there with the Pontiac Aztec, AMC Pacer, Honda Element, Toyota's Prius, MR2 and their entire Scion line. The typical Japanese tactic of stealing other designs and trying to "improve" on them is evident in the Turdra. The old Dodge grill surround, Ford headlights and Chevy bumper mashed together in hideous fashion is enough to gag a maggot. The body side styling comes straight from the late 90's Dakota(even we have moved on from that)and the rear end looks like a collision with a Ford SuperDuty. The use of two different style door handles seems to indicate they had old parts in some bin they needed to use up.
The proof is in the pudding as they say. We shall see. The early Turdra buyers will be the core Toyota demo. Thats means women over 50 and effeminate men in their late 40's or early 50's. Most will never pull or haul anything but groceries and they will laud their trucks even if something happens. I hope they are very good and force the other manufacturers to develop even better products. Competition will only help to strengthen the herd. As for me, I pass on the Turdra until they build something that doesn't look like it was designed by the creators of the Transformers franchise.

comon guys, my 05 4.7 dakota with the cam kit eats up tundras on a dailly bases. even people with ford excursions wanna race. the new tundra will be tuff but not job site tuff.how many people do you see in the construction bussiness with a tundra on the job site. next to none. only dodges and fords. even chevy is not out there. asfar as the tundra is considered , it will be driven mostly by retired people who just want to trot around town.
I just got out of a Titan and into a Dodge 1500 Quad Hemi. The Titan is fast and a pretty good buy. However, it is a bit "Toyish" and I really can't explain it. The Dodge is just more solid all around. Also, the Titan does NOT hold it's value. If I was to go Jap again, (and I won't), I would be a Toyota only for the resale and dependability. That being said, the Tundra has to come a long way to smoke a Titan and I'm really not sure if the 1500 is faster or not. I really don't care because my 1500 ate up trails that the Titan had a chuff on. I'm happy I have an American product. I know that Nissan and Toyota employ a ton of americans, but I feel good having the prize of the American line as I see it, Dodge.

T...T.....T....Toyota? What is this word? I am not familiar with this....."truck". Guys, dont fret, its not about whos fastest its about who's the versatile. The Titan may be faster but in 10-15 years I know who's truck will still be on the road if I were looking between a Hemi and a Titan...I'll give you a hint, it aint the Titan. Also, so what!?! It's a Tundra....it's Japanese. I mean hell, if anything its Risoto...take away all the fancy add-ins and Risoto is still just rice. Let these Japanese manufacturers think they can run with the big dogs...when it comes to barking they can do it all day. When it comes to biting....thats where we'll win.

You do realize that there are new people on this forum who have not discussed this issue before, right?! You may be tired of it, and it may cause heated discussions, but its still interesting to those who are not on here all the time.
Its an ongoing issue because people are interested in it, and I for one am certainly interested in what problems other's may have had with the Dodge's/Toyota's. How do you learn anything about a model(s) if you can't discuss it and why does this sight exist if you can't? Do you want the same old people on here everyday, or do you wan't some new people so the sight can grow and you can get new input?

Hope that wasn't aimed at me because I am interested in hearing all the angles.
