05dak3.7, you have got to be the most ignorant person on the planet. You roast tacomasall the time huh? Yeah right. Maybe a 4 cylinder tacoma. A V6 tacoma would rock your world hands down. Hell, the V6 tacos will probably beat my V8 tundra. And for all these"HEMI"guys saying you spank tundras all the time. Why don't yall race a comparable tundra. If you got an 03+ Hemi extended cab, race an 03+ 4.7 Tundra access cab. You might be surprised with the outcome. Win or lose it would not be a blow out either way. With all that said, I have no problems with dodge. My dad used to own a dodge dakota that he put a 130k miles on before he sold it. I will say that my family has owned fords, chevys, dodges, nissans, and toyotas, and we have not had a single problem with any of our toyotas which includes a 03 tacoma, 02 4runner, T-100, 05 camry, and my 02 tundra. I am not brand loyal by any means, but until other manufactures step upvthere quality standards to that of Toyota, I will continue to buy and drive Toyota.

Toyotas quality standards? You mean having more recalls than you guys know what to do with? Or having your wheels fall off going down the road? I think you Toyota guys hav ebeen brainwashed by Toyota just as most Hemi owners have been brainwashed by dodge. Dodge owners think their hemis go lightspeed because of the marketing and you guys think your trucks won't fall apart because of Toyotas marketing. All major vehicle companies build to pretty much the same standards.

my friends pops owns a car dealership here in town... the resale value on japanese pickups goes way down. everybody runs to the american trucks be it ford, chevy, dodge, gmc... he has trouble selling toyotas as well as nissans. nissans are really nice. i love those titans. but i love my v6 ram more! lol. when i get my HEMI (hopefully this year) ill love my truck even more than i love this one now. truck values will not fall as fast anymore since they are "utilituies" that people need to haul and tow stuff with. so the point im trying to make is that dodge trucks can resell for more than a toyota truck.

Thats funny. I've never had to take my 02 Tundra in for a recall. There is a reason Toyota, lexus, Honda, and Acura are tops in reliability, and dodge isn't. Numbers don't lie. Superior engineering = superior product. Oh and there is no way that Dodge trucks have a better resale value than that of Toyota. I'm calling BS on that one. Post where you found your information to prove me otherwise. I didn't come on this forum to kick dirt in ya'lls faces, just stateing the facts.

Hey! Go to a Toyota forum. This is DODGE! My fiance works for Toyota and I have to hear about it all the time. She had to test drive the Tundra the week before it came out. They competed with Ford, Dodge and Nissan. The Ford absolutely sucked. She had it floored the whole time through the cones and it was the biggest, sluggish loser of the four. It even had to omit one of the courses because it ripped up the bumper on the ramp on ground clearance. The Titan wasn't much better. Parts were small and looked like they came off of a Camry (her words). The only competition was with the Dodge, which in her opinion wasn't much. The Toyota did very well, but not much comparison with the Dodge. It was a Hemi by the way. The most impressive thing about the Tundra is the glove boxes, center console for laptop, blah, blah.. and that you could recline the back seats up to some 45 degrees. I talked my dad into getting a Tundra when they first came out and I hate it now. Glad I have a Dodge. It's about time they did something better for themselves though.. 7 years??

well several MILLION vehicle recalls, to start out with prove that toyota is NOT as reliable as everyone says. will all toyotas just fall apart driving down the road? no, but i wouldnt buy one right now with all the problems they are having. i forget the numbers but between 05 and 07 they recalled around 4 million vehicles for various problems. the largest recall was 2.2 million, there was one for like 775,000, and another one around half a million. that sure is quality. if you read anywhere on the internet, you can find numerous articles about the problems toyota is having right now. dodge had its share of problems back in the day, just like pretty much all car companies have had their share of problems. toyota still rides on the reputation it got for reliability back in the 70s when gas prices went up and many american manufacturers were making crap. the american manufacturers arent making crap anymore, and toyota is beginning to experience some quality issues. it happens to everyone. dodge wasnt making the best vehicles back in the 80s but they came back and redesigned everything and basically started over and now make really good vehicles. ford used to make good vehicles and now they are having major problems too. so now its toyotas turn to experience the problems that pretty much every major car manufacturer has experienced at some point. im predicting they either notice the direction they are heading and change some things up in the company, or keep heading down the same road until they hit rock bottom. then they will do just like dodge did and redesign everything and come back with a good solid vehicle.

My 98 ram with 120,000 miles has had no problems so withYOUR logic all dodges are made amazingly. 02 Tundra, you better do your research and find out about the recalls your wonderful comapny has issued, also, I hope you don't lose your front wheels driving down the road as I know that is a bad problem aswell.

The toyotos have a front end problem that has caused a maximum of 20 accidents i believe. They know they messed up and took the blame for it, and are spending a large amount of money to get it fixed. We have a sequeia and we will probably have to get it fixed with the recall notices. I remember reading some thingon herewith the driveshaft on the 3rd gens being flimsey. There are also other problems that people have been complaining about. The toyotos have had a few recalls on vehicals because they would rather not put anyone else at risk. Ford has ignored many problems, as well as other companies that have caused problems. Toyota is a great company, as well as dodge. They both have there ups and downs. A plus with the foreign car companies is that they want to make there product the best they can. American companies want there product to break so in the future you have to buy a new one. In japan all of the factories main goal is making the best product that will serve the consumer the best. They strive for perfection, but rememberNO ONE is perfect.

One more thing. Apple is a much better opperating system than windows. It doesnt have virus, works the first time, everytime. Sure it sometimes has compatibility issues, but they are getting better with it. All that said, apple had to recall 7 million computers because the batteries were catching on fire. Apple puts all they can into production, but they still had a slipup.

Toyota is still new to the 1/2 ton truck world...give them some time im sure they'll get over their recalls just like dodge and everyone else did. Im just saying, some of you guys bash on other companies too much, every company has its fallbacks, and its strong points.

personally im an american truck fan, and dodge is definitely the best in my opinion. however, you cant really knock toyota. they have some best built trucks too. on top of that, the new tundra is the most american made car out of ANY company. i know it's dumb, but it's true. we'll just have to see how the new ones work out. cant wait to race one though!
