Quality cannot be compared between these vehicles, period. I've driven them all including the new Durango and the new Ram. Cheap, cheap, cheap is all that comes to mind. When it comes to selling your vehicle, you'll be sorry. And you'll keep seeing ads stating the best resale value comes from Toyota and it's all because of quality.
I get so sick of toyota and all there fans thinking that that there trucks are so much better than anything else on the road!!! All you hear is toyota is better and have better resale value bla bla bla WHAT EVER!!!!! Toyota has no better resale than any other truck out there.....Unless you ask some toyota idot[sm=forgetit.gif]

I sold an xtra cab 4wd Tacoma abotu 3 months ago - it was a 1998 (bought in 97) with 165k miles on it - sold it for $9800. I bought the truck for $20,700 in 1997 - not bad resale for a more than 9 year old little truck.

Immediately bought a used 2003 QC Dodge 4wd for $15,500. I don't knwo what itsold for new, but it seemed generally cheap for a 3 year old truck. So either they were sold cheaply when new or the$ value does drop more quickly.

I do see a lower quality in the Dodge. I love the Dodge but I can also appreciate the Toyotas too. I've only been driving this one for 3 months but I don't have the same feeling that the truck will "go forever" - maybe I will in time.

Doesn't really matter what they have under the hood, how much it wil carry, or how much it will tow.
IT'S NOT A DODGE! so I won't be buying one!

lol i had to laugh when the guy was talking about horsepower to weight ratios and said something along the lines of "if the most horsepower and torque always won then diesels that make 350hp/600+trq would be blowing everything on the road away." i wonder if that fool has ever raced a diesel? astock diesel will blow away almost any other stock truck because of the massive amount of torque they have compared to gassers.

You're still talking about a TOYota.. made from recycle battleships and destroyers from Pearl Harbor we sold to the Japanese after the war...

Schmedley, I don't know what you're smokin', but I smoked 2 Titans this weekend alone.........

As for the dude arguing quality and resale value... Quality? Every ToyotaI've even ridden in looked nice and tight, tighter than a Ram off the showroom floor..... 25,000 miles later, it was like riding inside a steel box with a handful of marbles on the floor while it rested on a cheap motel's vibrating bed. Noisy, loose, and loud!
Resale? Well, it's all in that ricer tranny. For what ever reason, we Americans can't seem to build a tranny to last (mass-produced ones.) and that's it. The resale isn't in the body, interior, motor, or tea leaves... it's the tranny.... Once we (I must admit, again, I work for DCX) get that figured out, it's game over for the Asian manufacuters.

Being that a Toyota Tundra is the truck I owned before i just bought my dodge. an 04 Hemi Sport, I have to put in my 2 cents.

The ONLY reason i bought the Dodge was just a matter of change. I like change. I had a 04 Tundra that I bought off the lot brand new with 4 miles on it.

You all seem to under estamate the tundra. I will say this. I am extremly disapointed with the Hemi as far as terms of "racing" which I dont see the need to in a truck ne ways, but it is fun without a doubt to get on the gas from time to time.

The tundra, having 100 less horsepower stock, is WITHOUT a doubt much quicker then a hemi. the 4 doors seemed to have more interior room as well. I think read a read somewhere comparing all the trucks. Titan was the quickets. followed by a tundra. i think the tundra ran a 0-60 in the low 7's. while the hemi's were in the high 7's or low 8's. and being an owner of both I will be the first to say the toyota will def put you back in ur seat more than a hemi.

I remember when my cousin bought his 06 power wagon, we raced red light to red light. Id have him beat by 1/2 to a full truck length everytime. However, i think from 70-108 (where the governer kicks in) the hemi may be quicker. However they both, tundra and hemi pegg out at 108.

As far as quality, i have No doubt that the toyota is a better built truck. I beat the living hell out of my tundra ( i was 18 when i bought it) for the 2 1/2 years i had it, it was in the red zone for at least 50k of the 80k miles on it when i got rid of it. How it had a transmission left when i traded it in is beyond me. NO offense but with out a doubt I will be back in a tundra when i get over the hemi. I do think the dodge is a more intimidating looking truck, but it holds no ground w. the tundra on the street as far as performance. I know the 05 tundras were alot quicker than the 04's and my 04 would take a hemi fo sho.

and also, i hate to rub in your face, but one thing i had on all of my buddies w/ their fords, chevy's and dodges is that, the tundra is more american than these top 3's. over 80% of the tundra is american parts, and the engineering is without a doubt superb.

as far as towing, I wouldnt think twice about throwing 9k lbs on a trailer, I did move most of the weight over the back axle of the trailer so it made the tundra look like it wasnt having a problem pulling it as far as saging, but I never had a problem pulling heavy loads.

The Tundra is without a doubt alot more of a truck than most of the hardcore American made truck lovers would think and without a doubt should not under estimate it.

BUT for the mean time, i love my dodge but i know i will be back in a tundra when im over the dodge. Sorrrry []

Veibz, I'm just not buying it.
My experience is 180 off of what you're describing....
And to go as far as claiming that a friggin' Tundra has more American parts/metal in it that a Dodge is just plain crazy talk..... in fact, a lot of crazy talk from someone with a whole 4 posts here..

Since you've already thrown in the towel on your Dodge, I guess we won't be hearing a whole lot more from you on this board, unless it's more complaints about Dodge, and praise of Nissan.

Thats a negative there Maverick.

IF you look on the stickers on the trucks on a new lot, it will tell you exactly where the vehical was assembled. I remember walking a dodge lot about a month ago when i was looking and noticed that right about 1/2 or slight less than 1/ 2 of the dodge was made in america, and i remember seeing the tundras were in the high 70's. Sorry, i mean, it is RIGHT there on the sticker on the window, cant miss it. I didnt just pull all of that out of my ***. Im pretty much speaking from expierence.

One thing i love about the dodge, is that the steering and shift handle are nice and tight, just how the tundra was all the way up to till the day I got rid of it. I HATE how the fords lever is all loose and yucky. just feels slugish to me. As far as Nissan, I never did like the titans. and I have hear nothing but bad things about them.

I simply bought the Dodge for change and i feel that the quality of dodge has improved since the last generation, but I dont have that feeling that my dodge will be there for me at 150k miles as I did with my tundra. That thing felt like it would last me 300k.

Its simple. All them american made truck freaks (whose trucks are less american made than tundras) Under estimate the tundra. I believe it is a Better made truck as far as quality. and does hold its resale value alot better than a dodge. I got 13.5k on my 04 Access cab tundra with 82k miles on it. and bought my Hemi for 18.8k with 44k miles on it.Enough Said with that.

No im not a lunatic. Im a young guy, 22. I work full time for an engineering company, Go to school full time and hold a 3.8 GPA in college. I dont spend my life on the computer or on the forum. I only have 4 post, sir, because I have been a memeber of this forum for a whole whopping 3 weeks. If you look at my tundrasolutions, i had many post on the forum there. I surf faithfully, and if u were to look at my post on 2ndlight.com there are literally thousands. But sorry I have been busy with finals for school, work and surfin and could not post 40 post a day on here.

I saw all you dodge freaks bashing a tundra and a very few of you have given them a fair chance. I will always tip my cap and compliment a tundra owner of his truck, for it is one of the best machines and trucks on the road.

Not that this has anything to do with the topic, my 4.7L hangs with the Tundra, and my brothers Hemi demolishes the Tundra hands down. I hughly doubt you ever beat a Hemi in your Tundra, sorry.

thats fair. ive drivin a 4.7 dodge, when i was test driving them. very dissapointed with the pick up on it. Felt nothing like the tundra. Im still convinced that the tundra would put away my hemi sport. It beat the power wagon, But im also assuming the power wagon may have a different gear set up. Im not doubting you, but hey, your entitled to say what you feel am i wronge? I know the gearing in the tundras also very from from regular, to TRD, to 4wd
