Default 4x2 Vs 4x4

had a question i have a 4x4 hemi and a friend of mine has a 4x2 hemi. so in a 1320 drag what would the outcome be? would the awd in the 4x4 help it pull ahead? or is the 4x2 lighter and win? mods on both are axle back flowmasters.

4x2 should be a bit faster, since it has less drivetrain power loss (no transfer case, front diff)

yeah and you definantly dont want to put your truck in 4wd for a street race. putting it in 4 on dry pavement could cause you to puke up your transfer case. assuming yall both know how to drive he should win. of course you could always get a good jump or he could get a bad jump and the outcome might be different. i race my friends chevy all the time even though i havent won a race against him yet so just line em up and have fun with it.

i wasnt planning on putting it in 4 wheel drive.. my 04 ram has AWD 4H,4L, i dont have a 2x4 option.. so all in all, the 2 wheel drive will pull my truck..

maybe your the one thats mixex up..do ur research..i found this site http://www.allpar.com/model/ram/dodge/review-hemi.html and here is what is says..
Gauges were all sensibly placed, as were most of the controls. The 4x4 control uses a simple ****, with three positions: all wheel drive, four wheel drive high, and four wheel drive low. Most of the time, the average driver will use AWD. An LED indicates when the differential is in neutral.

you're correct about me being mixed up. I just did some research and found stuff on the awd. anyways, you would probably lose because his is lighter and has less power lost through the transfer case and all that.
