a few questions from a first time dodge owner
hey guys and gals...
i just bought a 2002 2500 v10 yesterday...this is my first only ever dodge..was a ford guy..totally love the truck and the crazy power. i have 2 questions...
1. my front driveshaft is moving when the truck goes in forward or reverse...and the u joints at the axel ends are locked...no free spin...is this correct, to me it seems like the truck is in 4 wheel drive? my past ford had a front driveshaft that you could spin. please help...i dont want to ruin the tires...
2. what are a good set of plug to get for a tune-up? im not used to the dodge brand...thanks alot in advance for your help...i hope i will be able to you as well...
thanks again...

the front driveshaft on a dodge doesn't lock and unlock like a ford. the driveshaft spins even when you're not in 4x4. i believe they have a vacuum lock kind of thing where when you engage the transfercase it locks the drive shaft in and you have 4wd. the driveline is just free spinning, no worries.
Good choice! I had a 98 2500 v10. I loved that truck. That v10 has sooo much power, I can't believe they quit offering it. My v10 rarely ever saw more that 2500rpm and it was flying with such little throttle input. Have fun!
Oh yeah, front axle disconnect. Like motorider said, there is a vacuum controlled motor on the front axle that disconnects the pass. side axle shaft so everything is spinning but it's not under load.

well i know my 1998 dodge ram thats 4wd the front drive shaft always spins. also what motor do you have? dodges get bad mileage. my 98 had a 5.2 and i got 10 city 10 freeway. my 2006 hemi now gets around 15.5 so i love it.
