Yes, the wire is under the hood by the pcm. It feels like it has more power and shifts differently, but could be just the colder temps lately?

PTO SWITCH

DESCRIPTION
This Powertrain Control Module (PCM) input is used only on models equipped with aftermarket Power Take Off (PTO) units.

OPERATION
The input is used only to tell the PCM (or ECMDiesel) that the PTO has been engaged. The PCM (or ECM) will disable (temporarily shut down) certain OBD II diagnostic trouble codes when the PTO is engaged.

JTEC and NGC Engine Controllers:
When the aftermarket PTO switch has been engaged, a 12V + signal is sent through circuit G113 to PCM pin A13. The PCM will then sense and determine that the PTO has been activated.

CM 845 or CM 848 Diesel Engine Controllers:
When the aftermarket PTO switch has been engaged, a 12V + signal is sent through circuit G113 to ECM pin B38. The ECM will then sense and determine that the PTO has been activated.

This sounds really interesting. I'm curious to learn more. Keep us updated on how the truck drives with this wire modified.

btw guys, the weather in N.Y. has made a differance on my 5.7. I've done nothing to my truck and since the temps have gone down it performs better. Of course most of us motor heads know that cold condesed air contributes to stonger combustion . Like spraying alcohol into the air flow of a turbo boost engine. Cooled engine , cool ambient temps and 91 octainse, kick but. So I don't think you performance is do to the 12volts into the "purple wire". Just my $.03.

What you are saying is all true except if I understand this mod correctly all it does is keeps the throttle from cutting out during shifts. So it doesn't actually increase horsepower or torque but it does allow the engine to use more of what it has. As I understand it the reason Dodge did this was to increase transmission life so the tranny isn't slamming into gear under heavy throttle. So this is kinda like adding a shift kit, but not quite lol. Anyways that is my opinion from what I have learned and really we aren't sure what OBDII functions it actually turns off.

Thats exactly what it feels like! It may not remove the torque management, but the engine's power is not reduced when shifting. It DEFINATELY lets the tires spin more!

mines orange but its an 03 hemi... think it will still work? how did you wook twelve volts up to it? crimped a power line in or what? did you splice into another wire under the hood?

I have a 2500 QC hemi, and I just hooked a wire from that purple wire directly to the battery. It definitely launches harder during shifts, and it seems to take off a little harder from a stop. I think it does let you use a little more of the engine's torque. The roads are wet here right now, so I spin alot taking off, but now with the wire hooked up it is sideways when it shifts. Never did that before unless it was ice on the road instead of water!! I also have a flashpaq installed, so I LOVE the way the transmission is working. I'm leaving my wire hooked up. I can't see any downside, as long as my PCM doesn't decide to spontaneously combust. If it shifts too hard when I tow my camper, I'll install a switch in the wire. This little bit of info was great. This is the best mod I have ever done for free. Thanks!! I don't know what other OBD functions are turned off, so if anyone finds out let us know.
