nBreakthrough in 04 PCM... just check it out!
K, here's the deal, i was reading the service manual for my 04 dodge ram 2500 hemi, trying to find a fix for the torque mangement. when i noticed that in the service manual that s it says when an aftermarket PTO is engaged some of tyhe OBD II functions are turned off.
So, to tell the PCM that a PTO is engauged you hook +12volts to the violet wire that is terminated near the pcm.
it DEFINATELY does something (not bad) , but I can't figure out which functions are being turned off??
I called dodge and the stealership, with the response, we have know idea....

I wouldn't think so, unless the wiring were there. I'm pretty sure the 1500 wouldn't have a PTO, but thats not to say that Dodge didn't use the same wiring harness where you might be able to do the same thing. IIRC he said it was a violet wire, so open the hood and check it out.

I don't know for sure about the 1500 but the violet wire comes out of the wiring harness right in front of the pcm and looks like it has heat shrink insulation and some hot glue or something on it ..... you'll know if you can find it, you'll be like whats this thats weird looking
