Default Jerking while accelerating

I have an 04 QC with a 4.7 and 5 Sp Manual about 53k miles ive noticed that when im going at a low speed like 15-20 or so and i shift into an upper gear 3-5th when i try to accelerate in those gears the truck will literaly act like im pushing the clutch and releasing very very quickly but i dont think the clutch is the problem because i push it in about an inch and a half and it comes out of gear. so if anyone would happen to know whats wrong with this thing _+_+_HELP_+_+_ haha thanks all

i know that lol i was just out road hunting and i was running about 1100RPM in 3rd about 15mph and i wanted to accellerate a little bit which if im constantly on the gas not letting off pushing it in letting off and such theres no reason why when im holding the gas down constantly that the truck should literaly be trying to jump is what im getting at i should be able to just push the gas pedal and accel gradualy not fast like if i was in 1st or second not accel slowly plus jumping of the truck like someone is behind me bangin into my bumper with their vehicle.

and it never used to do this it would just accellerate but as u know alot slower than a lower gear

There is a term for the style of driving that your talking about. Its called "lugging the engine" Which is very bad for the bearings in the bottom end of your engine. Depending on how you drive other times, you might consider the condition of your clutch too. I'm not sure why you drive this way. If its to get better fuel economy, then your wasting your time. Your engine will be more fuel efficient if you get into the higher RPM's (2k to 3k) kinda the same way that some people get better fuel economy when they install 4.56 gears. Just my $.02

When u say road hunting, i'm guessing yr actually hunting and trying to keep the exhaust noise down?????

your running at 1100rpm in 3rd gear doing 15mph. try starting in 3rd gear and see what happens. unless your truck is geared low...its gonna bog down. i keep in mind what motor said in his post!!!!!

Ok then why does it also when im even higher in the RPM do this in 3-5th mostly 3-4th when im in the rpm rang to where i shouldnt be completely lugging the engine i can be taching in 3rd about 1400-1600rpm range its something that it should do no matter what gear im in it never used to and now i noticed last night that while idling it sounds like something between engine/trans is rubbing and the noise goes away when i engage the clutch and the truck is taken care of 54k Miles every 2500-3k oil changes goes mudding once and while..only been stuck 3 times to add rocking wear and tear to the clutch and i usualy only use the clutch in 1st and sometimes 2nd gear otherwise i power shift so i dont think its that. but in my opinon it sounds like somethings rubbing on the flywheel i dont know if theres anything in there to do that but ied just like someone thats knows more about the internals of these beasts on wheels.

Honestly it sounds almost like the clutch is going. The way your shifting now would cause it to wear alot faster than what it should normally. Id take it in and have it checked out to make sure its not about to fall apart on you or do it your self if you know how. Just my $0.02 though......

Who ever told you that power shifting doesn't hurt the clutch gave you some wrong info. Power shifting can hurt any components between the clutch and the tires. It sounds like your style of driving has caused your clutch to wear out. I'm not knocking on driving hard. I drive a lot of my vehicles hard, but when something goes bad or breaks, you can't complain about something being wrong. It just goes with the territory. It would be like doing a donut every day and complaining that the tires wore out before they should have. Just my $.02

You beter hope PETA doesn't find out about that (People for the Ethical Treatment of Automobiles).
