Many guys are steping up to the Manley springs... Personaly I feel if your going to swap the springs you should attempt to STEP up in performance. With a high quality spring and light weight retainer you will be able to better control your valve train and it will last longer & you will make more high RPM HP. If your just going to replace tehm with stock parts then just keep the stockers... The Manley Springs & Retainers are a very nice upgrade for your valvetrain..

Nick this is one time I am going to have to disagree with you. If you compare the Manley's, 6.1, 5.7 and Comp The the order would be:

Manley's
6.1
Comp
5.7

The 6.1L Exhaust springs are very well made and will beef up the drivetrain nicely. Now if you are planning on running the 268 or going F/I then it might be a good idea to go even stouter. Just my two cents, but I did a buttload of research prior to doing my install and those are my findings.

I never heard anything good or bad about the 6.1L parts... but I do know the 5.7L parts do NOT have a very good reputation... So I dont Disagree with you at all... Im not sure what we disagree with... I think we both agree that changing out the stock springs would be better than NOT changing them BUT their are several HEMI owners running the 6.1L cam with the stock 5.7L springs. Im not convinced the 6.1L springs are any better than the 5.7L springs. Dont forget the lowest bidder got the contract to make them. Manley or bust! If your going to swap out your springs/retainers do it once do it right!

I just dont see going HALF way as an option... EVER. So when possible I try to replace stock parts with the BEST aftermarket parts. I just would not feel rignt having somone replace a stock valve spring with a stock valve spring. There are areas that you can save a buck in and there are other areas you should NOT attempt to save a buck in.

I think we for the most part agree though...

You are right Nick, if I would of had enough money I would have got the Manley stuff, but we are not all rich like you.
