Default 06' Ram 1500 4x4 leveling kit

I just bought an 06' Ram 1500 quad cab 4x4. I have already ordered the 2" spacers for my front struts so I can level it out and put bigger tires on it. I want to keep my stock aluminum wheels(17x8). Does anyone know what size is the biggest tire that I can put on without doing any more modifications? Please keep in mind that my wheels are only 8" wide. Thanks.

33x12.50s will fit perfectly. 35x12.50s would probably fit but be a tight squeeze. it's ideal to run a 12.50 tire on an 8' wheel. any wider (10") and you don't get the same flotation and your sidewalls are more prone to damage, along with the outer rim of the wheel. anything wider than a 12.50" tire, i'd swap over to a 10" wide wheel.

Does the '02 have the same front end as '06?
I am trying to find out if anyone makes a leveling kit for my truck.

The spacers don't work on 02-05 1500's, they use torsion bars. The 06 models have a strut assembly like a coil over shock. I put 2-1/2" spacers on mine, sits perfectly level.

If you use the spacer kit be careful using a 35x12.50 tire. I bought a set of nitto mud grapplers in that size and they would not work. An A/T tire should work with some minor trimming on the plastic.

hey bradwcc, how do you like those mud grapplers?? How do they ride on the street and perform in the mud?

How are you making out with the spacers? What size and make of tire did you go with? By the way, where did you get your spacers?

I just got the new 4Wheel Parts catalog, and ORA magazine and they have a 2" leveling kit, with shocks for less than 200.00, now it is the new torsion keys, with 2 pro-comp shocks. I think they are pro-comps.

I would check them out, If I dont trade mine 05 in on a mega cab I might have to invest in the 2" kit, a magnaflow and a CAI. A new head unit and some nicer speakers....LOL.
