I did see a little bit of a change but I have not been tracking it to close. Im still looking into some other mods to get the numbers up....

Did your Gibson system help your mileage at all? I'm considering that as it seems a pretty reasonable 3" system. Also, I recently put on an AEM system and the mileage dropped 2mpg. Has anyone else had similar issues?

Go with a Magnaflow if you want a quieter exhaust that is made for performance and gives you that performance sound. Go with a Flowmaster only if your looking for sound cause thats basically all they are good for. Also I have never heard or seen a catback system throw a code unless some sensor was removed in the process.

Hellbilly1: Go out and buy some electronic cutouts for your exhaust system so you can run open headers whenever you want and be able to close them up when a cop drives by or if you get tired of hearing them constantly. I really dont think you could get louder than that.
So your opinion is that magnaflow gives you performance gains, and flowmaster does not? Anyone else back up this theory. Just curious to understand how big of a difference it is. My opinion is that if there is a gain or loss difference between the two; its so slight you dont notice it with either muffler. Just pick what is going to sound the best to you; unless there is evidence that magnaflow is a better performance exhaust, i would like some more details rather than just, "because i said so"

And I agree Hellbilly1, you most likely want some electric cut-outs; added bonus is that you don't always have to wake the neighbors.

Thanks,

Boyd

What's the consensus among 06 owners for exhaust that sounds good without screwing up the MDS?
I've been "given permission" to get an exhaust for Xmas, and just can't decide which one to get.

"given permission" haha! That's funny...

I have the Flowmaster system on mine. I'm not really happy with the sound or the performance, so I am looking into trying something else. It has never thrown a check engine light however.

Yeah, permission, LOL... After building a 12x20' shed on a weekend while she was away for business, I got put on "Toy Probation."

So.... anyone out there w/ MDS want to share what exhaust they've found to sound cool and not monkey with the function?

I put a magnaflow on my 06 and have had lots of compliments on the sound of it and it didn't effect the function of the MDS but when your cruising around town you might want to put it in tow/haul mode to disable the MDS so it still sounds like a hemi.
