Default Magnaflow or Flowmaster

I purchased a 2006 Ram 1500 Sport QC 4X4 with the 5.7 hemi. I'm considering putting on a new exhaust. The only local dealer is Magnaflow. They told me if I installed a Flowmaster exhaust I would never be able to clear the engine check light. Any truth to this? Also, what exhaust would you guys recommend - I realloy don't want to hear it while cruising on the highway.....

Thanks in advance

I have installed a Magnaflow on my 2004 2500 Hemi. I have never had a check engine light come on. I have also installed a AEM air intake. Horse power increase was amazing. I can smoke my tires on that heavy 3/4 ton truck.

I just put a magnaflow system on my 03 1500 Hemi. It sounds great, has alot of crunch but can also have a nice rumble when you don't want it there. I would say go with the magnaflow it really is a great exhaust system.

Where are these mechanic guys coming up with these stories???I've had my 2 Super40s for about 6 months and never had the check engine light come on. He must get some kind of deal from Magnaflow to say that. That is a bunch of crap.

Magnaflows are great. I love mind, nice deep rumble, and very tolerable under highway speeds. Thats BS about the check engine light, hes just blowing smoke...

I just purchased the new Zoomers cat-back exhaust and no check engine lights. I've never heard of any problems with check engine lights with just a cat-back or muffler swap. I know guys have had some problems with headers and high flow CATS tripping lights but not cat-backs. Anyway, check out the Zoomers on my 4.7 same system as the 5.7 quad 1500.

$599.00 and no drone in the cabin, nice a quiet while crusing and great WOT.

Here's my thoughts on the system: https://dodgeforum.com/m_637819/tm.htm

How do you not get pulled over with no muffler???? I took mine off for a weekend just fors $hits and giggles, and it sounded good, but it was INSANELY loud, I was sick of it after a day lol.
