Not all 2006 5.7Liter Hemi's have the MDS. The megacabs do not come with the MDS Option. The only true way to tell is by the VIN number or by looking at the window sticker if it is still available. It's a great feature, but you never know when it's on (there no magic light or any indicator that says it's on).

 

I know when mines on because I have aftermarket exhaust. The tone is a tad bit different when the MDS kicks in. And yes, MDS saves fuel that is it's only reason for being in our trucks.

in mexico they are different. from what i understand from srtkiller, a 2500 in mexico is the same thing as a 1500 in the u.s.? i dont understand it but he explained it to me once and it made sense.

The only 06 1500 that does not have MDS are the megacabs. They do not have MDS.

 

Any particular reason the mega cabs don't have it??

 

I have an 06 single cab Dodge Ram 4x4 with the new MDS Hemi and it is nice,howeverif your looking to put an exhaust system on it good luck... When it kicks in the sound is awful with aftermarket exhaust.. I found out the hard way.. I installed a Flowmaster single inlet dual outlet and the change is very noticeable.. Im in the process of tryin to figure out a way to make itquieter so its not that noticeable..
