Default OEM hood scoop position

I purchased a DodgeOEM hood scoop (like the Rumble Bees) for my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. Does anyone know, how close to the back of the hoods edgethe scoop is positioned?

I'veowned the truck for 2 years and it sure is a blast to Drive.
Thank You,
Slug

I have no idea, but who says it has to be in a certain place, unless you just want to go for the factory look, put it where you think that it looks the best!

Thank you! I did just that and it went on beautifully. I measured the position of some of the Rumble Bees I found at the dealer lotsand my OEM scoop fit at the same positionas the ones I measured.
Now to make it functionable andfunnel the air into my SPCAI system.
Thanks again for your reply.

just my opinion, but the fake double sided sticky tape hood scoops look tacky as hell, if it's not functional, why have one at all...

glad you like it! How much did it cost, both to buy and have it painted, or does that one come painted?!?! I've been thinking of putting one on mine!

OEM all metal and the gaskets---To my door, painted black, 238.00. I won it on ebay. I'm a out-of-the-box thinker and making it functional isnot anything a small amount ofC4 can't handle. Making it efficent and effective with a little elegance?I've got a couple of ideas but I'll have to see how they look first. When I solve it, I will take pictures and post them for you.
Why I didn't buy the functional hood like the new ones?It just didn't feel right for this 2003 truck!Besides, I think it would be more fun to have a functional non functioning hood scoop. Who would suspect?
