Truck of the year went to the new redesigned 2007 Chevy Silverado. It still boasts the 5.3L V8 as standard, and is now equipped with Multi Cylinder Disfunction! Or Dodge calls it MDS.. What do you guys think?

 

its ugly and slow compared to dodge, i guess they just picked the chevy because all the new commercials are advertising it as "Americas truck"

 

If thats Americas truck it must be South America!!

 

Those 5.3's are not all that slow! I raced the GMC version of my truck (06 QC 4x4 Hemi)and we were dead even! Thiswas 1/4 mile stretch of straight road in an undeveloped industrial park. I was surprised! Maybe my truck is slow?

 

it looks better than it did. i heard something about a 6.0 liter w/ 367hp? pretty good numbers, but its still a GM. [8D]

 

I really like the truck. There is a rumor of the new SS being a RCSB silverado with the zo6 427 in it. The SRT10 will get whooped if that happens. I think the 5.3 is a dog as I lost to a silverado with a tune, CAI, exhaust, longtubes, torque converter, cam, and a posi by less than 1 tenth in the 1/4 and all I have is an open diff superchips and CAI but they looks real good. look even better in real life.

 

I hope it's better then my '03 i have a GMC2500HD and have always been a Chevy/GM guy and right now i am trying to get out of my lease early so i can get my first Dodge , this gmctruck is one of the worst i have ever had ! and has really turned me away from GM i do like the looks of the newGMC's better then the Chevy's but that Dodge is one better looking rig ! and since my son just got his new '07 dodge it makes me want one even more !!

 

I test drove a new HD Silverado last week. Its still a old mans truck.
Its underpowered compared to the Hemi. The wheels were too small and it lacked alot of features that should be in a HD truck.

 

Yeah it is kind of funny.. I used to drive a '94 2500 Silverado with the 5.7L Throttle Body Injection motor. What a pile that thing was... But I got to drive my grandpa's 2006 Silverado the other day, and the dash is exactly the same! same guage set-up and colors and everything! Anyone ever notice the weird smell that the Chevrolet's have in them? Must be the type of carpet they use or something lol.. I notice weird things like that I guess..

 

Want to wager on this ever hitting production? I say there will be no 427 Silverado in 07 or 08. The muscle truck wars are over, at least for now. Auto makers are only interested in selling mass quanities of models that can make some money during this down time.
