i saw someones signature in here and it said they had the 6.1 cam in the 5.7 and the same as the valve springs. what all would i gain if i was to do this?

Technically no, there are a lot of guys running around with everything else stock. It is probably a good idea though to change out springs and pushrods just to be on the safe side.
