Some say push the Tow/Haul button, but I find this kicks it out of overdrive as well and it revs to high.

Don't worry about it. You can't even tell when it's working.....

I have heard both from different people, some say the Tow/Haul prevents it from kicking in and some say that OD off prevents it from kicking in. So try both and see what works. Also, I remember reading on here somewhere that if you do the 6.1 cam swap, you would alsohave to swap in 6.1 valves and 6.1 valve springs which as a side effect, prevents the MDS from functioning as it is with those parts that the MDS works. So, you may be able tokeep your stock cam and swap in the valves and valve springs out of a non MDS Hemi? Check outsome "6.1 cam swap" threads for more info. Hell, if it was me and I was going to go that far to disable the MDS, I would do the 6.1 cam swap and get 25 more horses!

MDS is a big Chrysler secret...

I am sure it's not that great. Probably rarely comes on... it's hard to get the advertises milage without MDS nevermind with.

Would be nice to know when it's on so you can regulate your driving habits.. but I think it would drive me nuts to see a little "MDS" light go on and off all the time on the dash.

Just forget that it's there and drive.............that's what they designed it for.

Under "normal" driving conditions, MDS is operational about 40% of the time. And it's true....for most people with a louder exhaust, the sound of MDS when it goes from 8 to 4 cylinders is not a good thing. Some have described it as sounding like the "fop-fop-fop-fop" that helicopter blades make. The shop who has done custom exhaust systems for me for over 10 years refused to build one for my '07...saying that every single one he had done for Ram owners with MDS had come back with the request to restore the exhaust system to stock.
