My ram won't start

My ram won't start
Hey everyone. I went to start my truck the other day and it wouldn't start. Just wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions for me. I have an 02' with about 90,000 miles on it and this is the first time that it hasn't started. Problem definately isn't the battery as it almost turns over. Engine is getting fuel, it just doesn't seem like a sufficient spark is being made. Truck was running strong, no misfires or anything, which leads me away from the problem being bad spark plugs. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks

I had a plymouth that did that. The lights came on but it wouldn't start. Take a sharp knife and clean the battery terminals and the battery post make them shine. If that doesn't work open the hood and push all your fuses down all the way, sometimes they get loose and cause all kinds of problems.

Sounds like some kind of ignition module to me, not sure what a dodge has because I haven't had those kind of problems with a dodge before. My GM products were famous for that though. A truck doesn't just start fine one day and not the next. Fuel pump, maybe, or ignition (distributor cap). Not plugs, or plug wires, they wouldnt do that.

How do you know you're getting enough fuel? My ram won't run w/96,000 miles. it will start sometimes and run for a few seconds and when i squirt engine start in, it runs so i know it's not the ignition. No problems before.
The fuel pump would make noise when you turn the key, but i figured that i wasn't getting enough fuel, so I dropped the fuel tank.
In dodge's infinite wisdom they have 2 "permanent" fuel filters, a sock on the pick-up and a fuel filter/regulator. Since i had just gassed up, i figured that i got some dirty gas which was just enough to clog the sock. imagine my surprise when i saw that the sock and the tank itself were pretty clean. But when i ran the pump into a bucket, it started squirting out black gas. I ran it for about 30 seconds until the gas looked clean.
What kind of filter would let this kind of crap get by? I'm guessing that the fuel line from the pump to the injectors has thesame crap in it. My next step is to pull the injector rail, flush the line and clean the injectors.
I'm also thinking about installing an in-line filter since it doesn't look like the factory filter will catch this stuff that would otherwise go into the engine. I'll have to make sure that I get high pressure fittings for it.
