Default Truck tranny... Gone

Well I was driving home today and I came around a corner(accelerating well) and switched around 4000rpm to second gear, started crunching, grinding. So I pulled to the side and let it idle for a minute and tried to put it into gear... NOTHING, 1st, 2nd, ect.. Even reverse. I figure tranny is shot to hell and called atow truck.

What could cause this and what do you think? Maybe because of the much larger tires than the v6 should have? is the v6 tranny weaker than that of a v8? Lemme know guys, thankS!!!

YANK THAT CHIP OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! dodge will never cover this under warranty if you bring it to them with a programmer. The tires could have done it, did you gear your axles for the tires?

Dang it!!!!!! I forgot about the chip!!!!!!!!!! ahhhH!!![:@] It is at the dealership now so I don't think I can get to it anymore so i'm screwed with!! I was going to get a gear change but the dealership said it was a bad idea(I disagree). The emitions change for the truck, speedometer off(which I thought could be fixed, but apparently you can't do that with a V6??? and the mpg will drop they said(more rapidly than I thought, they said like 4mpg less, which is not what I heard) Do you think I should do it now? will that help?

yes, always re-gear for tires. You will get better gas mileage as your truck wont be working as hard to move the tires and your whole motor will be working ALOT less to push the tires.

Well this is what happend:

Rear differential, toast

clutch and parts... gone to hell!

All because, of my tires! they said it was not my fault, my tires are wayyyy TOO wide/large for the V6 Tranny/diff/ENGINE! So basicly I have to take it reallyyy easy so that this doesn't happen again. I want to get lower gears but there are soo many complications to it though because I have a 06 model(computer is different than lower years) So they are replacing it all for free, just one time. Next time Dodge will look at it, and either deny or approve of fixing it again. But in other words, this will happen again no matter what! So when I get to around 15000 miles(or when I have the money) I am trading it in for a v8. But if this happens again I'm screwed. At least they are taking blame and fixing it for free.

how big are the tires you are running. I would get a skinnier tire and gear it for the tires and you should be fine.
