06 2500 aries bull bar
Hello I'm Ben. I just purchased an 06 power wagon with the warn winch installed in the bumper. I'm wondering if the horizontal middle bar of the aries bull bar will interfere with the winch slot. Has anyone installed this on a 2500? I know at least the part of the bumper near the lights is different between the 1500 and 2500s, but is the 2500 bumper taller? I can't seem to find any photos of it on the 2500.
TIA
Here's the 1500:

Sharp.... Got a question for you though. I was thinking about getting a grill guard, and was wondering why you chose a bull bar, instead of a grill guard... Are the Bull bar used for anything in particular? Was it just preference, that you chose the bull bar?
Just curious.

I want that exact bull bar for my 03. They look so nice. I personally like them way more than the brush/grill guards. I think those just look funny. The bull bars are aggressive looking. They also come with holes for mounting two lights in them.
NY: I agree with cbrewer, I think they look better. I'm not fond of the full wrap around that overtakes the style of the front end and the places I'm taking the truck, there isn't any brush to worry about. I think the intention of the bull bar is to prevent damage to the bumper and grill in the event you happen to bump something or take a hill at an angle too steep, though I doubt it would hold up all that well so for me, it's basically just for aesthetics and the ability to add a little more light to the front end for off-roading.
Two years back, i struck a deer head on, and did considerable damage to the right side of my vehicle.
I'm wondering now, if the damage would have been less, if i had installed a grill guard.

Finally just called them and they told me that it does cover the winch slot. Bummer.

It works wonderfully, was competitively priced and is quite solid and looks sharp. It attaches to the frame plate that the bumper attaches to from the inside. I'm going to try to fabricate a detachable light bar so I can quickly remove the lights if I need to use the winch.
