Next time you fill your reservoir, start the truck and work the wheel back in forth for a little bit. Then shut off the truck and check the pump for traces of fluid (if it is easily accessible, I'm not familiar with the ram's power steering pump location.) If the hoses didn't fix it, from experience with a GM vehicle (never again) I would say the pump may be the culprit.

I also had issues with this leak, it was all over the front end. Dealership told me that it was bad fittings on the hose, they changed the hoses and fittings. It was fine for a while but now its starting to leak again. DAMNDODGES!!! Still love it though. At least its under warranty

There's a guy on page 1 of this forum who had to get a new Power Steering pump. I hope that won't be my case.

Well, DAMN...

Mine is leaking.

I've been noticing that when I back out of my parking slot in the mornings, the steering is sluggish (even when letting the engine warm up). I've been attributing it to the singe digit temps VA has been having, but this morning I noticed that there were stains under the car near the curb. I backed the truck up to take a look but the stains were old and I thought someone else had been parking in my spot while I was at work. Well, I had to run an errand but 30 minutes after I returned, I went out to the truck and saw new accumulation. I backed out the truck and stuck my finger in it...looked like tranny fluid but appeared to be coming from way up front of the engine bay. I've maybe got a bad hose, as the reservoir appears fine (no leaks there) but the damn thing is 2/3rds empty and below the ADD line.

I suppose I have to go to the dealer. I didn't buy an extended warranty but I'm still within the limits of the basic warranty plan (truck as a bit over 20K miles, its a 2004 5.7L QC).

I'll look for the TSB and prep myself for being very tactful yet agressive in getting the dealer to ensure the issue is fixed the FIRST time. I can't afford to be going back and forth to the dealer over the next year because they're trying to milk me for money or take the easy path out. I'll make it known that the issue will need to be fixed at the root of the issue.

Anyone know if these repairs are usually done in one day (provided they have the correct parts)? Otherwise, I'm looking at getting a frickin' rental, unless they do loaners. They gave me a loaner when I took the truck in for its interior/exterior coatings and liner install...wonder if they'll do the same here.

OK, where is this elusive TSB?

There's a crapload of TSBs listed and I'm currently attempting to search each directory for Ram-related PS issues. I'm getting nowhere fast.

[EDIT - Didn't see anything here]

Is this it? Mine is also leaking, I think the cold weather we have had here recently has something to do with it. So if I take this in, the dealership will fix it for free?

there is no TSB for it...if you would go and look through the forum you will see that I have said time and time again that Dodge has had problems with PSG leaks when the new body style first came out in 2002...the majority of it is bad hose clamps that can easily be replaced in a matter of minutes...other times, it may result in a bad pump or a bad R & P....my 02 ram and my 04 that i have now have both had this problem...reservoir had been very low and it was all due to bad clamps...replace the clamps on the hoses going to the rack, take it through a car wash to do the under body wash and drive it for a couple days and re-check it...if there's no fluid then problem solved...if there is fluid, then look and see where it's at and use some common sense from there...

not tryin to be a a**hole, but i cant recall the number of people we had come into the dealership with rams and PSG leaks and all it was was just a clamp that they could have easily done themselves and saved em $80
