I knew exactly what it was wen the steering wheel was stiff and my truck started moaning. So yea...its at the dealership thank god i got the extended warranty. I'd be paying out the *** for them to fix that off of warranty.

 

i wish i got extended warranty i've been paying out the rear to fix my truck. what a POS

Sad to hear about the PS pump, especially at 44K... Were you ever losing power steering fluid?

 

Max00racer, what kind of vehicle do you have? you have nothing on here about the vehicle.
Can you give us some specifics on what kind of problems you encountered before the PS pump went up?

 

join the club, i had one done at around 45k and now im taking it in next week for another one, at 60k...... and i dont even reef on the wheel or anything. THinking they jsut have weak pumps or something

 

I really like the truck but, if this is what i have to look forward too, then i might be better off trading it in for either a GMC or Alvantaz.
What do you think? Also you mentioned that you had another one done at 60K. how much did it cost you? was it still under warranty?

 

Denniss66, i see that you have a 03. So you didn't get any warranty with your vehicle?

 

The noise you were hearing,did it sound like a siren but real low??? I've got a noise like that coming from under my hood that I can't find. I crawed uder the front end and see that the one hose coming from the power stearing pump and some fluid on it about to drip. It then dwaned on me that it might be the power stearing pump. What did that cost at the dealer to replace????

 

ya its got the 7 year 100,000 k warranty on my truck so it was under warranty still.
