I know this is a stupid question but I have to ask it because I want to take my truck in asap and have exhaust put on, but I don't want to like an idiot. When people say that their exhaust is "dumped", what does that meen?

 

Also...... What are some advantages or disadvantages with "dumping" your exhaust?

 

i think that dumped is when you cut your exhaust out right after the muffler. anybody correct me if im wrong. i have mine dumped and at low rpms you get the nice low tone but when you get on it it is loud as hell.louder than straightpipes. but it depends on what kind of muffler you go with.

When you say it gets loud.......does it get high piched or does it stay low?

 

no it doesnt get high ptiched. its just loud. and i mean really loud. sounds kinda like a big block with flows. or a nascar. its a good sound but loud as hell. but it doesnt sound whinney or high pitched.

yeah youll be happy with it i am. when im just crusing it has that nice low tone to it but when you hit the gas hard, people know you are there. if you are gonne do it make shure that you get about 3 inches of straight out piping then a 45 towards the ground. i had to trim mine alittle after i got it done. it was too much bend and echoing off the road. but if you get it just right it is perfect.
