Default Flowmaster 50 HD muffler?

has anyone tried one of these on their Hemi's. I see alot of people getting the 40 series ones, but I want something with a lower exhaust note but has good flow. Looking for something with little cabin noise. thanks...

It sounds good on the Hemi, a lot of people have it. It was a little quiet on my 4.7L so I took it off. It was only on there for a couple months, I will be willing to sell it to you if you want it. I can get pictures too if you want. Let me know.

I have it on mine, sounds pretty nice. Don't know if you are looking for something real loud, but the 50 HD has a nice mellow sound, can be fairly quiet in the neighborhoods a night as long as you are easy on the gas, and can bark pretty decent if you stomp on it. I would definitely recommend it for an all around muffler.

I have the 50 on my 2005 1500 QC (with Hemi of course!). I didn't want the real loud sound either. Around 1500 rpm it makes a pretty mellow sound. Quiet enough not to upset the neighbors when I leave for work at 530 in the morning. But as soon as I leave the subdivision, I gas it a little and make some noise. I'm very happy with it. Had it about a year now.

It sounds like the 50 is the one that I will be going with. I live in an appartment complex and leave for work at 5am, so I don't want something to wake the neighbors. can't waite to get it installed. I don't know if I want to go with the 3"in/3"out or the 3"in/ 2x2.5"out. If I go with the two outlet one I would like them to exit in the stock location, not one on each side of the truck like a traditional dual exhaust. Don't know how doable that will be.

you might have to get a custom pipe made for that. the pipe for the driver's side cuts left after the axle then heads straightback after it gets around the spare tire. An interesting thing though, they also have a kit that comes with the 40 series muffler that exits like you want. Maybe give flowmaster a call and see if its possible to get that kit with the 50 HD instead.

Also keep in mind that with the 50 HD kit you can either exit straight back or out to each side. It comes with both sets of pipes.

I was figuring that I would need to get it custom made at the muffler shop to have it the way that I want. Also the reason that I want to go with the two outlet is that the pipe will not be mandrel bend from the muffler shop. So if I go with the two 2.5" outlets even with the pipe bent I will still have good flow after the muffler. Should flow about the same as a 3"mandrel bent pipe. Plus I get the look I want. But I will still have to go and find out if this is at all possible. Thanks for all the helpful info
