NEW 33 inch TIRES (SPARE TIRE QUESTION NOW)
Hello,
I just upgraded my tires to 33X12X50X17's and my stock spare is a 245x70x17, if I get a flat somewhere will it be bad to toss on that stock spare with the other33's? Im talking maybe 50 miles MAX until I get to the tire shop, can this harm my rearend or front end where ever I have to put the spare on?
Thank you

that's a possibility but you should be fine if you take it easy on it for a small amount of time. I had to go from the stock spare to my 33's once on my lifted 98 and everything was fine. I have a posi in that truck too.
I dont have my Dodge lifted up, but my Broncois, I have 35x12.50x15 tires on it and a smaller spare and have used the spare many times. The best thing to do is put the smaller spare on the front in an emergency. I know it takes more time to do this but it is better for your truck if you do.
Don't do it on the rear. As mentioned it will eat up your LSD pretty quick. I've seen a few guys tear up rear ends doing that.
Under throttle it's gonna constantly be working to split the difference.
Keep the same size on the back and put that small one up front. That's an open diff and can handle that small difference a little better.

Well thank you for all the info, Also if I did get a new spare tire, I believe a 285x70 is the same as a 33x12 right? Will it fit under the truck where the spare goes?
The 285/70/17 is 32.7" and it will fit perfectly under the truck. Some Rams came with 20" wheels(32.6") from the factory so it should be no problem. You can either get a new tire for your existing wheel or buy a 20" spare from the dealer/junk yard/forum member etc.
The Rumble Bee, Hemi Sport, Daytona's all came with 20" wheels and a 20" steel spare.
