Got my Mopar CAI Installed
well yesterday picked up my intake from the dealer, put it on last night. Looks awesome, and sounds super mean at WOT with the flowmaster exhuast. Just roars. Cant wait to get the headers on there now to. ITs gonna be crazy loud!!
Im glad i got the intake when i did though cause the dealer said they just jumped in price and are now like 650 bucks!! i was like wow ya i wouldnt of bought it if it was that much.

i ended up paying around 480 with tax in, and that is in canadian dollars to. Which i thoguht was a pretty decent price considering it has the throttle body spacer and if i do get a ram air hood it will make it fully functional where as any other intake wont.
hmm 480.00
I have $1.00 that says that "mopar" intake doesn't even 2rwhp more than my $40.00 eBay intake....
Not trying to knock your purchase...but DAMN! You could have gotten the air ram duct, the power wire, the CAI and a Superchips 3815 for that much.

it is because it comes with the throttle body spacer and the heat shields. Right now u have nothing blocking the heat from the engine to getting to your filter. And id much rather pay the money and put a Mopar part on then some cheapy off ebay just my opinion. Ill post pics once i take some this weekend.
LOL...justify it however you like.
if there's one thing a person learns on this and any other Dodge site (particularly on these trucks)....is that the TB spacer = a waste of $$$....unless you have the other MAJOR modifications to make use of it.
my air "scoop" does direct fresh "cooler" air directly at the filter when the vehicle is moving... and my air filter is next to the radiator (not behind it).
the mopar one has sheilds that block radiating heat from the block...but you still draw in the hot air from within the compartment.
Perhaps that was 480.00 CDN? really it had to be because dealers in the US have them for around 240.00 USD.
Either way...if the mopar was designed a little better I too might have considered it...
