dodge has had a 3/36 warranty for as long as i can remember and the gm 5/100 warranty is for powertrain...the 7/70 was an option you could get. when my mom bought her 2006 jeep commander there were a couple different options you could choose, one of em was a fuel card, one was the 7/70 powertrain, and the other was like $1500 or $2000 rebate something like that anyways. now it may have changed since then, you'd have to check on that

Found this, what I was talking about.

May. 17, 2005

Chrysler ends 7-year warranty

Starting in the 2006 model year, the Chrysler Group no longer will offer its seven-year, 70,000-milepower train limited warranty. The company will continue to offer the three-year, 36,000-mile standard bumper-to-bumper warranty. Surveys of consumers showed that the 7/70 warranty protection was a low priority for buyers, said John Schenden, owner of Pro Chrysler-Jeep® in Denver and chairman of the Chrysler-Jeep national dealer council.

That's funny, because i don't remember ever doing a survey....And if i was ever asked about it on a survey, i would definitely say that the warranty is an important factor in deciding whether or not i purchase a particular vehicle.
I feel like this, if you (the Manufacturer) make a product, and know that this product is made with quality parts, which you know will withstand the test of time, and you truly believe this, then stand by it, and offer the warranty. If it is indeed quality, then the consumer will never have to use the warranty...
The warranty in my opinion, is a piece of mind. Any opinions?????

Keep this in mind too. When I bought my little used 87 Honda Accord last year it still had the original paperwork.

It came with a 12/12.
