Default Turn Off That Horn

When I lock my truck with the key fob, the lights flash and the horns sounds briefly. It's brief, but it's loud. I keep waking up my 6 month old when he's napping. Not a great idea. Babies are way more fun when they're well rested. Is there a way to disable that horn beep when the truck gets locked?

the instructions to de-activate this are in the owners manual.....or stop by your local dealer, then can do with a STARSCAN tool....should do it for free.....see my other posts about what they can do, accessory delay, door locks etc....

i am in the same situation bill. i have the factory alarm/keyless entry. so all i do is hit the toggle for the door lock. it still activates the alarm and locks all the doors. and dont have to worry about waking the baby. i dont want to disable the horn beep because i like to know that i locked the doors when i go somewhere.

Page 44 in the owner's manual I believe... "thing to know before you get started" section or something........ **EDIT: DOH! This is the fix for the seat belt chime.. my bad...

If you don't see it, post and I'll go from memory. Easy fix. Lights still flash when you lock/unlock the doors with the keyfob.

I have the same problem on my 07,manual says

while standing outside the vehicle
press and hold the lock button
continue to hold the lock button, wait atleast 4 seconds, but no longer than 10seconds
then press and hold the panic button.
release both buttons at the same time.

I have tried this multiple times but can't get it to work. I also can't get the "unlock all doors with one press of the unlock button" either.

I have been able to turn off theseat belt alert and the automatic door lock on hitting 15mph.

I would like to know if you get it to work.

I just did it yesterday. I did lock the doors first, and I was still just sitting in my truck. Here's my entire procedure.

Locked doors
Pressed and held lock button for 5 seconds
At 5 Seconds, pressed and held panic button in addition to still holding lock button
At 8 total seconds released both

My rule of thumb is to add a second or two to the holding times, especially since they give you a window like "more than 4 but less than 10". Just don't go over and you should be fine.

Then I pressed the lock button and the doors locked again and the lights flashed with no horn.

I love not having the seatbelt chime and unlocking both doors with one press. Now I just need to go to the dealer and get the power delay put on and I'll be set!

I did it like four time before I said screw it....the dealer is only like 10 mins away and theyhave a great service dept, they hooked it right up to the StarScan, set my locks to unlock all four at once, no horn..just a light flash, no chimes inside, and set the accessory delay for 12 minutes....took them 10 mins to do it all, there is so much you can have done thru that StarScan, daytime running lights and a whole lot more....might be worth a trip if ya can't get it to work after a couple of tries.

You need to turn the key to the start position but dont start truck. Then use the buttons on remote that you tried. It will work then. I already did it.

On my '07 I had it programmed a few times and it worked temporarily and then went backto factory settings.I took it back and they told me that it was one of the items that usually don't stick unless the dealer does it in the computer and it is free.
