I've followed the instructions to remove the honk as stated in the owners manual (hold lock down for 4 seconds and then hold panic and release both) and its not working...

Any ideas?

 

I have the Sentry system installed by the dealership. On the remote I press both the lock and unlock buttons at the same time and the horn will not honk. It works the same for locking or unlocking. Hope this helps.

 

Rocket....I've had the same problem with my new Ram.....tried following the directions in the owner's manual many, many times. I called the dealer service department, and the service manager said that the computer would have to be "re-flashed," which should fix the problem.

 

well heres what it says in the 2004 ram service manual, i dont know if it's different from the owners manual cause i didnt want to go outside and look.
1. get in truck and close all doors
2. turn ignition to on position
3.press and hold LOCK button for 4 seconds. Within 6 seconds with the LOCK button still depressed, press the UNLOCK button. When a single chime is heard, release both buttons.
4.Turn ignition OFF
5. turn ignition on or wait 60 seconds
6.verify by pressing LOCK button

if chime is not heard in step 3, program mode was canceled before feature could be disabled. repeat procedure.
to ENABLE horn chirp, repeat the above steps

hope that helps, maybe owners manual didnt have one of those steps or something

 

Hello, Sloth here. I can't get rid of the horn honk. The instructions in owners manual don't work. Will try the intomorrow procedure. Called dealer today, will get back to me.

 

I've got a 2007 and had the same problem. I knew I was doing everything right, but still couldn't get the horn honk to stop. I took to the dealer and the service guy said he had a couple of similar cases just last week.

He pulled out the StarScan (I think that's what he called it), and had to re-program the computer to get it done.

DC should issue a TSB for it, if it is that widespread of a problem, IMHO.

 

Not trying to dis yall guys, but i did it with no problem. Yall must be missing something

 

What we're missing is a computer that is working properly!

 

Same problem with my 07. Had to take it to the dealer. Couldn't get an answer as to the problem, just wuicker for them to connect the starscan and set it for me.

Thanks for the replies... I just put the fog light kit on and it won't work until the Dealer tells the computer that I have them... neat...
