topped up with wrong power steering fluid
I noticed that my power steering fluid was low and I topped it off with about 2 oz of regular power steering fluid instead of the ATF+4 transmission fluid (should have checked the manual first, I know).
Will this small amount harm anything or should I change the fluid all together?

if you have not driven the vehicle, you can just remove whats in the reservoir and replace with new. BUT, if you have driven it, you will need an entire system flush of the power steering system.
I'm not doubting that I need to change the fluid, but what harm could 2 oz. cause in the system? Could it affect seals, etc?

well, here's what it says right from the service manual:CAUTION: MOPARATF+4 is to be used in thepower steering system. No other power steering orautomatic transmission fluid is to be used in thesystem. Damage may result to the power steeringpump and system if any other fluid is used, and donot overfill.so i would agree with what everyone else has said and I would flush the system and refill with ATF+4
I am glad i was checking this out tonight because i just did the same thing today. I have never drained the power steering fluid. I haven't taken a look yet to try to figure it out but if someone could let me know that would be great. Thank you.
