I have an 06 Ram Quad 4x4 Hemi MDS. my first two oil changes were at the dealer using Krex (with graphite). I now have 7,000 miles on my truck and about to get another oil change. Looking for any suggestions? trying to decide which brand and type oil to go with. i really don't think it'll make that much of a difference in the long run, i just want to pick one and stick with it.thanks

 

I don't have a Hemi, and my vehicle doesn't have MDS. But, i use Mobil 1 synthetic on a regular basis, and I'm happy with it.

 

You've got MDS, so you need to run 5-20 weight. My choice? Mobile 1....with extended life Mobil 1 filters.

 

at what intervals areyou changing with synthetic Mobil 1? seems like a lot of members are using synthetics. are synthetics considerably better than regular motor oil?

I changed over at 96k to Mobile1 , i noticed engine runs smoother (tick still there)

 

[align=left]I'd put in Amsoil 5W-20 XLM. Great oil, cheaper than Mobil 1, and from my experience runs as good if not better. I have the 4.7, but I have several friends who have the Hemi, and it loves the Amsoil 5W-20. Again, this is a suggestion...Mobil is a good oil, but it really comes down to what you feel comfortable with.

I use the Amsoil 0W-20 series 2000 oil with their dual bypass filter set up. Change oil every 25,000 miles. Runs great on Amsoil, which I have used for many, many years. Our 99 Ram 360 has 204,000 miles on it with Amsoil with no problems, other than normal maintenance items and the belly pan gasket problem. I highly recommend it. I am not a dealer.

 

i run heavy duty 5-30w amsoil i my hemi and no problems

 

I use mobile 1 full synthetic, never used anything else in my truck, never used the free dealer oil changes either.
