With 9 inches of lift...
i think you would probably need more than 9 inches of lift to fit 40s on your truck, especially if you wanted to have room for flex without rubbing. my friend has an old bronco with 39.5s and he has 12 inches of lift to get the tires to fit, and the wheel wells on his truck are larger than the ones on our trucks (he didnt cut them out) so im betting it would take at least 12 inches but 14 would probably be better.
the good thing is that he has been running this set up on his stock IFS suspension for almost a year now, and hasnt had any problems. i do think that it would be a better idea to go ahead and do a SAS (solid axle swap) to help things hold up better.
i personally love big trucks, but if it were me i wouldnt go more than 36s on a daily driver. its just too much un needed wear and tear on the vehicle that you rely on to get you from A to B on a daily basis. if it were me id get a mess around truck for cheap, so it doesnt matter if you dent it up offroadin, and jack it sky high. that might not be an option for you, i know it isnt for alot of people including me, so if you really need a huge truck (with two swamps on your land thats a big possibility) then go for it, but if you just want something thats capable enough to go through most stuff out there, but still use it as a daily driver, id only go with 35s or 36s. itd be alot cheaper, and put alot less stress on your drivetrain. plus if you live on a farm, im guessing you use your bed fairly often to haul stuff. its gonna be a bitch getting alot of things in and out of your bed when its that high up off the ground. just some things to think about.either way you go keep us posted and post up some pics (including action pics of course) when you get it finished.

I don't know that this helps you directly, but it's a good high level concept to think about when you want to go bigger. Cheap, Big, Reliable... Pick 2
I have a 6" lift with 35's and they don't rub at all.. 37's would probably fit, however I would probably have to trim the lower valence on my front bumper. If you don't have a sport model then that piece is removable, and thats what most people do it just remove it. Here's a pic.
Die hard, I would go with 37's max. It will look good and get you around the back roads of Alabama fine. Make sure to regear, best gear ratio for you is probably 4.88's with anything over 35's and get an Auburn posi for that rear end and you won't get stuck very easily.
Bill, I do agree that it is kind of a mall crawler but most new lifted trucks are. I have been into four wheeling for some years now so I am very aware of what mall crawlers are but some people may have just never heard the term before. Even though most of the lifted trucks out there are mall crawlers they are still cool IMO.
For those who don't know what a mall crawler is: It is a truck that is jacked up all huge and has big tires thrown on it when it rarely sees anything but pavement. If any of you come to LA or Vegas where I live you will see tons of HUGE lifted trucks but none of them ever go off road. So they are called mall crawlers since they are only good for cruising around the parking lots of malls and shopping centers and picking up bro hoes.

Ok, 37s it is! 6" of suspension lift, no body! Now without trying to overcrowd this post with another subject, I'm planning on getting Nitto mud grapplers in 37x13.5x18. Has anybody heard anything bad about these tires. Only a couple of people here that I know of have them around here, but they haven't had them but a couple of months. they say they do really good off road, but are loud on road. However they are quite loud. How long do you guys think that they would last??
Diehardpolice, that was awesome what you said to that dude from la, i live in new braunfels texas, if anybody knows where it is its because of schlitterbahn or the rivers, Th southis the ****, do what you want man, i personally wouldntput the body lift, there not very reliable, go with the 6 inch and some 38 and re-gear it. Screw what everybody else says, there jealous cause your gonna have a badass truck.
Lol I'm not jealous at all, I just don't want to read a story from him saying well my whole front end and rear end are destroyed and the warranty won't cover it since I stuck too big of tires on a half ton.

if i had the money that is
