Is it me or is it normal?
Greetings,
I noticed on my 2006 Quad Cab 1500 noise coming from the driver side dash. Whenever I hit 65mph + and the A/C is off or on with the recirculating button on it sounds as if there is an air leak within the dash. The moment that I turn off the recirculating feature and get air from the outside the noise is gone. The dealer has had my car for 6 days now and till today they said there was a problem. So they proceeded to align the door, replace some A/C seals and do something with the windshield seals all to no avail. Today I get the phone call from the service manager stating that the noise is normal. Before I fight this to the bitter end, can anyone shed some light on this for me?
By the way, I hope this makes sense. [sm=smiley14.gif]
Thanks in advance,
J

ya, I get some noise when I turn on the recirc, it seems to me just the sound of the air being sucked out of the cabin... at first I thought that it was loud, and then I just got used to it.
makes me wonder about my first impression.

I complained so much that they are going to pull two new models for me and test drive them with me....I will post the outcome later today....But thanks for the quick replys...

That is the best way to answer your question. Drive another similar truck and see if it is the same noise. I did this with an a/c issue on a grand caravan. I heard the same noise I was complaining about with out ever leaving the dealers parking lot. Good luck. Red
The 2006 has all new door seals that make the interior much quieter than 2005 models and older so your door seals should be dead quiet. I have not noticed the sound you are talking about but I do not use my aircon very much.
Here is today’s update...They didn't have a 1500 Laramie available for me to test with the service manager. All they had was a 2500 diesel. I gave them till next week to find one so I could kill two birds with one stone, the test drive and the new recall. So, I will post an update at a later date.
Thanks for all the previous posts!!!!
