just look on some gear website and see whatthey offer for your axles. I went from 3.55's in my 1500 to 3.92's. 3.73 to 3.92 is not a noticeable difference, why do you want to go to a lower ratio?
More towing, better offline snap, and I was wondering if it would keep the overdrive from "hunting" so much. I'm new to the board but I"ve had the truck since new.
If I were making the swap myself for those reasons, I would stick in some 4.56's. I'm pretty sure the powerwagon comes from the factory with 4.56's, so they shouldn't be too tough to find for your 2500.
Power wagon has 1-ton axles, and my neighbor's has 4.56's, but also, it has 33" tires. I wouldnt want 4.56s with stock tire ratio, but like said above, from 3.73 to 3.92 isnt a big enough difference to make it worth while. 4.10s, (if you can find them) would pull hard. The 2500's with the hemi does not have the same axles as the cummins, except in the power wagon, thats one of the reason it cost more. From '04, the hemi 2500s have a new American Axle just for these trucks. Its a 10 1/4 or 10 1/2 AA. Its been a day or two since I was looking into it. Randy's Ring and Pinion carries them. Good luck to you.
