Default So my dad wants to have fun as well.....

So after a summer of watching me do all the mods and such to my truck, he decided he wants to do the following...

Exhuast
Intake
Shocks
Programmer (possibly)

Can anyone offer me any ideas to give him. Mainly from personal experience?

I know I can search, but I have to go like right now, and he just brought the idea up. Thanks.

If he has a hemi then the best intake is a true flow, hands down. A good free flowing muffler is all you need and get rid of the resonators, if his is an 03-05 dynatech headers or possibly some pace setters are a great idea as well. Now tons of people say superchips is the way to go but a few guys including myself are floating around here that blew their trannys and point the finger towards superchips. Just some food for thought. I will try to respond back if you have anymore questions.

Why would you suggest going with an aftermartket muffler alone, rather than a whole new system?

He wants a dual side exit system, but like I told him, it's gonna run him like 550 or so dollars...

Ok well headers are out of the picture then, no one makes headers for the 2500. A free flowing muffler gives the same performance for less money, if he wants a whole new system it is just as good.

if he wants duals then ya he has to go a new system from muffler back, but if not the piping is big enough on the hemis that u can just add a muffler and be good. Id go with the mopar intake, it looks nice and is genuine parts.

That's true but the guaze filters don't filter as well and the mopar intake is like the K&N in that it sucks in hot engine compartment air.
