Had the stock Good Year Wrangler GSA's on my 05 Jeep. At about 24k miles they got to where it was taking about 4 to 5 ounces inside and outside to get them to balance and then that was no gurantee. Also, they wore quickly and I am religious about rotating and balancing every 3000-4000 miles since Kaufman county is too busy stealing my tax money to actually put it back into improving the roads. At 25k miles they were nearly to the wear bars on the tires. I recently went to 32 x 1150x 15 BF Goodrich A/T's and I will probably never go back.

I hated the stock Michelins that came with my ex-Dodge but they wore well. I got rid of the truck around 25k miles and had better than 1/2 tread left.

I'm sure you're talking of the Goodyear Wrangler's that come on the Ram's 04 and newer. I had the Goodyear LS on mine when I got it new and those tires sucked hard. No grip on dry or wet. When I switched to the General Grabber UHP (after only 29,000 miles) I thought I was in tire heaven. What a difference! You should definately go with a different tire.

I got 54,000 out of my stock tires. I have a 04 standard cab ram with the 3.7 and 17" rims.
fronts could of gone longer but it was cheaper for me to change all four.

My 03 had Michelins on the stock 17" aluminum wheels.. They lasted about 44k miles, than I got some cheap Kelly A/T tires, and only had them on for about 5k and they were already at about 40% left.. They were horrible.. The new Toyo's are going to last a while though!

Haven't heard anything good about these tires. I rotate mine every 5k and try to drive like an old man. Here's a link to Tire Rack about the review on the stock tires.

I am looking for some 17's to run in the winter months as there is a better selection and not quite as pricey. I'll keep the 20's for summer as the chrome-clads don't like the salt too much.
