Question Factory remote start prices?

Looking at getting a FACTORY remote start. Curious on what everyone is paying for parts & labor elsewhere?

The dodge dealer I go to told me $350 installed w/2 key fobs. Didn't seem bad....

Is this remote start ONLY for the 2008 Ram? I don't see why it wouldn't work on a later model such as a 2005. JW because I would possibly look into the factory remote start for my 05.

Does them prices not seem to high? I put one on my wifes trailblazer for like $60 bucks. Shop around some!

Have seen aftermarket remote starts for around $90-yes. That does not include install.
Even with an aftermarket system and installed I bet its around $200 maybe more.

The Mopar system seems to be the best option for me. It doesn't void warranty and it was designed for the truck. It may cost more but I know if I choose to take the cheaper choice I'll regret it.

I'm not sure that it works with the older trucks. The newer ones basically have the remote start built in already, that's all you add is an antenna, hood switch, keys, and programming.

That's pretty cheap for remote start, once the keys are cut can they be programmed like the ford pats system? Using the two keys you already have to program the new keys?

Thats another benefit with going with the Mopar system. The service guy told me I would get two new key fobs which include the remote start option and I would still be able to use my two original keys.

I'm pretty sure they have to program the truck anyway with the starscan tool, so it's probably part of the programming charge they have already included.
